Things Smackie Thinks You Need to Know...

i've been saving my upgrade since march for this damn phone.

I was really hoping for a pentaband LTE, so it would become standard fare in the next Nexus, but they stuck the 5-band LTE with the CDMA version and of the 5 bands, they didn't include the one US GSM LTE band (obviously at&t had something to do with that).

This sets a bad precedent for a true world phone with 4G data.

Act surprised when the saucy British lady reads this to you.

I wasn't going to skip to the business section given all that's happening in the world today, but you guys have just made this article too much to resist.

An Apple "meh" delivered by the saucy one?  I'm in heaven.

In related news, I just discovered that "Saucy Jack", David St. Hubbins' rock musical based on the life of Jack the Ripper "has been workshopped within an inch of its life".  One can dream.

(note my Economist style placement of punctuation marks)

I hide the Economist from my newsfeed much like I do with sports scores so as to not ruin the result for me until I get to each section every week.

She was extra saucy with that one.  I nearly had to pull off the road to relieve the sexual tension.  It was palpable.

Simply brilliant.  I'm amazed at the resolution and clarity moving at that speed.  Makes me wish I could tolerate everything else that happens at Burning Man again…
I'm not sold on this boycott the NFL thing, but I'm certainly not going to gamble on anymore games until this strike is over. It makes shootin' craps look easy.
hey smakie,

were you in oakland on sunday?  just wondering if you were at the game… no reason.

But hearing 70K Ravens fans chant "BULLSHIT!" on live TV was a beautiful thing.

that was pretty epic.  i came really close to snagging some tickets and going to the game, that chant convinced me i had made the wrong decision (despite the pats loss).

No way.  I do not go to Raiders games where I will be actively rooting for the other team.  I watched a Steeler fan nearly die just for wearing a yellow t-shirt at the Coliseum in LA back in the early 90's, left long before the game was over, and swore I'd never attend a road Steelers-Raiders game again.

I've been to one Raiders game in the 10 years I've been here and I had absolutely no rooting interest and comped tickets in the teams section of the visiting team.
