I didn't realize Code Red was Dew's attempt at recreating Big Red? At least that is what teh Wiki sayz. Big Red is another thing I miss being able to get readily, although it's best from a fountain.

One of my favorite pops, however, is the uber regional Ale 8. So unless you've lived in or passed through in Southeastern Ohio or Kentucky, I doubt anyone here has ever had it.
i've had it - thanks to the missus, who's from the bluegrass state. last thanksgiving we went to a wedding where they included some ale-8 in the guests' gift bags. i kid you not.
while i appreciate tasting such local specialties, can't say that i would seek out this drink. too sweet for me.

Ale-8 is available in bottles or cans. It is widely preferred that the beverage be drunk from a glass bottle, rather than cans or plastic bottles.
Ale-8 traditionalists are even known to refuse to drink Ale-8 from the newer glass bottles. Instead, they prefer the older "returnable" glass bottles (so-named because they can be returned to certain stores for approximately 30 cents each). The "returnable" bottles are often referred to as long-necks, while the more modern design as short-necks.
Some Kentuckians are fond of mixing Ale-8-One with one of the state's many bourbons, such as Maker's Mark or Wild Turkey. This has been named the "Kentucky Classic".
Ale-8 is also often mixed with vodka, with the resulting concoction known as a Tender Lovin'.
Seagram's Seven and Ale-8 are mixed to produce Kentucky Beer. (from wikipedia)

They've both been bad. The first "Pitch Black" was black grape with a sour bite and "Pitch Black II" was black grape with a sour aftertaste. You can still get the most recent dark one at a safeway south of San Francisco.
And yes, only the original comes in diet, but Smackie's never been one to need to watch his figure.
I've had big red once, but totally forgot about it. Never had Ale-8, but will keep an eye out for it.

OK. Seacrest played a clip on E yesterday, and I didn't care much for it. Definitely Paris Hilton flashbacks. But, like the Paris Hilton song, it was much better when accompanied by the video.
Thanks for sharing!

For those that are willing to Beta Test some new software, the Windows
Live Mesh program has gone to a small public beta.
If you are interested in synchronizing files across many desktops/laptops inside and outside of your local area network, then now is your chance.
I use Live Mesh to put stuff in a folder that I would normally take home with me on a flash drive or on my iPod. When I power up my computer at home, the files are atuomatically delivered the sync folder on my home machine.
Eventually it will be spread to your mobile devices, servers and Mac support, but right now it only works between XP and Vista machines.
More info on
the wiki page.

On my way to work this morning, the Oscar Mayer Wiener mobile drove past me, and I'm not going to lie, I craved a hot dog at that moment.

Not that's it's going to preclude me from clicking that link, but doesn't internet streaming "remastered" tracks defeat the purpose of remastering?

I forgot how much I love the remixes of "Two Hearts Beat as One" - I only have it on vinyl and haven't heard them in quite a while.
I know somewhere The Director is smiling right now!

My boss would like to see you.
She want's to know why I'm screaming and bouncing around my office. I told her it was because you started a landslide in my ego.
Kosmo was right - I am much more happy about these then I thought I would be. Here I was all geared up for Coldplay tomorrow, but there's no way it can compare to this!

Both Kosmette and I own the vinyl copies of that 12" and they are really good remixes, I happened upon a used CD single with them last year and gleefully snapped it up.

I was reading over the details for Rock Band 2 and wow would this be a handy feature to have, guess it was the right decision to hold off on getting RB1 for the Wii.
"The guitar itself now features a woodgrain-looking neck to help maintain the illusion of actually rocking, while a new auto-calibration feature flashes a light in time with your TV screen to measure the delay and adjust accordingly."
