COVID-19 2020

We need a follow up to what’s the matter with Kansas

What’s the matter with Missouri

If you're not a southern county, wouldn't you be a northern county by default? What else is there?

you never heard of mid-Missouri counties

in all seriousness, MO can be divided horizontally: the KC-to-STL corridor (AKA I-70) splits the state into north, central (KC-to-STL) and south belts/zones/etc.
Red states are dangerous for your health

guess you need to make your summer plans align with your political persuasion
Olympics to be held without spectators as Tokyo enters state of emergency
not sure of the veracity of this, but makes sense:
If you're hesitating to get the vaccine, you should know that in Maryland, every single person who died of COVID-19 last month was unvaccinated. This is Darwinism and natural selection at work. .

My unvaccinated 80 year old mom left a message that she's glad we made it back ok from California. She was worried the whole time about losing us in an earthquake. Sigh.

Inappropriate LOLs from me.
speaking of CA …I was reading today that LA is pretty much going back on lockdown
los angeles reinstituted mask mandate indoors despite vaccine status

we may not be going to all the shows we are buying tickets for…

this thread scared the be-jeabus out of me

da fuq?

SEAN HANNITY: "Please take Covid seriously. I can't say it enough. Enough people have died. We don't need any more death. Research like crazy. Talk to your doctor… I believe in science. I believe in the science of vaccination."

https://twitter.com/sahilkapur/status/1417301374245687296

someone posited that hannity's lawyers told him to switch tack - wouldn't want to be liable for preventable deaths… better late than never?
^I thought for sure that was a deep fake the first time I saw it…I was like, there is no way someone on Fox is saying this

I heard fox staff have to comply with a 'vaccine passport' to come back to work…as the same time their news has been screaming about the evil passports that are pretty much the same as the holocaust
It was also pointed out the sudden shift at faux news could be attributed to the market wobbling due to increased cases because of the delta variant… don’t want those rich people taking to many hits on their net worth

Does Julian's America's representative want to weigh in here
They play for credibility every once in a while

Like Trump did

People fall for it and they get great copy

Fck that, I'm vaccinated. Vaccination prevents hospitalization.
Also, nearly 100% of new COVID deaths are of Republicans and Fox News watchers. Their 180 turn is just self-preservation.

Uneducated Americans live anecdotally, not scientifically.

My mom lives in the same town as my brother, his wife, his wife's sister, and his wife's sister's teenage son (did I get the grammar right on all that?). The teenage son is one of the handful of teenage boys nationally who had a big negative reaction to the vaccine. Things were touch and go for a while, and he was in the hospital for a week. (My brother's wife actually had the illness that the vaccine caused in the kid a couple of years ago, pre-Covid, so it's probably some kind of genetic predisposition in their family…my mom is not blood related to either of them.)

My mom observes that, and she has newly found fuel as to why she will never get the vaccine. Never mind that she witnesses something with incredibly low odds. Never mind that that something was occurring in teenage boys and not elderly women. Never mind that the Covid death rate for her age group is over 10%. She saw with her own eyes the harm that the vaccine does (and doesn't personally know anyone who was seriously ill or died from Covid.)
OK, but where did her fear of Earthquakes come from.
