Rand Paul today: “It’s time for us to resist. They can’t arrest all of us .. No one should follow the CDC.”

right up there with "they'll never find me in this remote cabin/compound."
Bowser mandates COVID-19 vaccine for all DC government workers, teachers
That includes contractors, interns and grantees, as well as all D.C. Public Schools teachers and staff.
They have until Sept. 19 to be fully vaccinated. If you’re not fully vaccinated — due to an exemption for medical or religious reasons — you have to submit to a weekly COVID test..

what is odd is that Delta a few months back was requiring a Vax for new hires
Like Corona beer, gotta imagine the Delta V is hurting brand value…

Ok parents of under-12's. (edit 5-11) Who's going to be first in line and who's going to wait a bit?
Va. vaccine chief: Approval of vaccines for kids 5-11 likely in a few weeks

I think we will be first in line…
yup, my kiddos are getting vaxxed ASAP. they're back in public school this september so i'll be nervous until the day they get their shots.
Just to pivot the conversation slightly, should we be vaccinating 5-11 year olds now or should we wait until the Julian's of the world – those who are now 6 months out from their second dose – get a booster? From a health risk perspective, obviously its a no-brainer to booster shot your most vulnerable over giving a dose to children who have a statistically insignificant mortality rate. From an economic perspective, well, what 5-11 year olds do you know are revenue generating?
I just think, once again, we're not tackling this logically at all.

Thanks to the Biden Advance Child Tax Credit…the kidos at the Hatch-hold are creating some revenue

allow me to introduce you to MIS-C. one of many long-haul complications from COVID-19.
asking me to put the long-term health of my unvaxxed children ahead of doubly-vaxxed JA'ers isn't even a question.
There's so much stock in the rich world right now that it doesn't even have to be an either or conversation.

you bring up a relevant point: we'll get a huge bang for the buck by vaccinating the rest of the world. as long as the majority of humanity has access to neither vaccines nor adequate healthcare, variants will continue to emerge and will make their way to us. we've already proven that closing borders doesn't work - by the time we know it's far too late.

I think the priority had pivoted to keeping the schools open in person at this point

Would not fit in JA though…but yes, that was the subtle point I was making.
