COVID-19 2020

Well Chill Out is one of my favorites!!!

It was my comedown album for a while

it’s a wonderful record…a personal favorite I have listened to a lot… it would probably make my top 100 albums list

I have a really good bootleg of the original on LP

I can’t imagine it without all the samples!

I recently saw an original at the record store but it was expensive!

It just really relaxes me! It lives up to the name

Can’t say enough good stuff about it

Well the internet delivers as I found a YouTube with the original version

I have kinda always disliked the KLF with that stupid DR. Who song (and I moderately like dr who…. At least the one with the long scarf) and ‘live house’. With the crowd noise
I am sure they did some remixes I liked…
But never knew they released this
Only 30 years late to the party

Cut back on your Handmaid's Tale intake….

People like this will be running the school boards if we let them run unopposed

Tbh… some good things in there

Was going to say the same thing.
One last quote on the school board issue, that I think sums the current situation up

@kitzeeipe

I taught for 40 years, and all that time we desperately tried to get parents involved in their children's education; attend PTA meetings, back-to-school nights, etc. but they couldn't be bothered. Now they're coming but bringing demands, guns, and zip ties. God help us!
Vax with no jab….    Very promising

Could give to your maga relatives in their white claw

Boy that horse dewormer is the best thing going

BREAKING: People are backing up hospitals in Oklahoma by overdosing on horse dewormer medication. A doctor said that people are now even reporting vision loss. “The ERs are so backed up that gunshot victims are having a hard time [getting treated]."

If only there were something free out there… hmmm

Apparently this story isn’t true.. the doctor quoted in the original article hasn’t worked in the ER in a couple months….

Yikes the number of people passing along that story, me included… and yes a very sad part of me wanted to believe this was true, which is why I so gleefully passed it along.. oh well misinformation can ensnare us all

Tangent: as people continue to talk about “how full hospitals are”, I truly wonder if 99% of them have any concept of what percentage of hospital beds are filled on any given day, pre-COVID. It’s much higher than people are thinking.

Hospitals make money by having beds full. It’s what hospital administrators retain or lose their jobs based on. I’m not acting like COVID has not increased the number of beds full or shifted the percentage of filled beds by severity, but I get the impression that people think 25% of beds were full precovid and now we are at 95% and the real situation is it went from 80% to 90%.
yeah, it's kind of a third rail topic
but my (quite possibly, ill informed) understanding is that beds filled is always in the 80% or up, so just little blips can cause a full house
can't keep having that kind of stuff, but that's why a for-profit health care system kinda sucks

I was hoping the dems would have taken this moment to pass a real change in health care
when I talk about issues that hit my wallet…my 'employer based' plan a significant portion of my take home pay to just cover the premiums

but apparently that off the table, we can have a pandemic AND fix our fucked health care system

Yes. This is actually quite a well-informed take. If hospitals were sitting 85% empty every day, they wouldn’t have been built the size they are. Managing capacity along the continuum that most hospitals own (the actual hospital, a SNF, an ortho/rehab facility, a skilled home health arm, a hospice agency, etc) is major lever in vertically integrated health care systems which is what you see dominating the markets. They’re not running at 50% capacity, trust me.

lol ;D

difference is that she said it sincerely, while i'm saying it sarcastically.
IMP tries to clear up their mask policy (after 10/16, you need a jab)

MASKS ARE REQUIRED
Per the Mayor’s mandate, masks are required to be worn indoors, regardless of vaccination status, except while actively eating or drinking. This means that you can briefly remove or lower your mask to take a sip or a bite, then immediately put it back on. This does not mean you don’t need to wear a mask if you have a drink in your hand. IF YOU REFUSE TO WEAR A MASK YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE SHOW WITHOUT A REFUND. IT’S YOUR CHOICE.

this was funny
As long as you are 40+, your child's risk of hospitalization is the same and risk of death is lower than yours even if you have been fully vaccinated with an mRNA vaccine and they have not. This data comes from Public Health England.

Uh-oh, we're in trouble now.

Hutch, were you the person who said we'd never see vaccine mandates?
"What is the effect of the top pilots - who refused the “vaccine” - quitting?"

Uh . . . I think I'll continue to be just fine?
