So yeah, not as flat as I had previously stated, but nowhere near 1000 new cases every day.  Were you looking at Maryland data?

Doh!

But yes, still going up slightly

well if it wasn't for that fake report on 5/1 (come on people, you know Obama did that) the curve would be a lot flatter
Yeah its hard to tell what happened that day. Presume it was some "catch up" reporting that would have smoothed the curve a bit. Fair enough to consider it spurious for trendline purposes.

Brooks, who is also the chief operating officer and director of technology development at a firm called RUCDR Infinite Biologics, has come up with a coronavirus test that relies on nothing more than spitting into a cup.

His firm has won emergency use authorization from the Food and Drug Administration for saliva tests that people can perform at home. It’s a breakthrough in a nation that has struggled to expand coronavirus testing to the degree experts say is needed to safely return the country to some degree of normalcy.
A lot of these good news stories you hear about one time and never again!

For the small sliver of the population that are sexually aroused by chewing tobacco use, there has never been a sexier or safer time to be alive in this entire pandemic.

I don't think you've spent enough time in Red State Country to realize that that is actually a major turn on for a fair share of the rube population.

jules lives in the Richmond area, I'm sure he has first hand exposure to this
211 new cases in MoCo.
It seems likely that with a imcreasedt testing they will catch more of the asymptomatics. So it will be tough for the number of daily cases to decrease if the are catching a higher percentage of the positives.
Why would asymptomatic people be tested?

I mean I can’t get a test

Who is getting tested without symptoms?

Really? Every PatientFirst type place here has drive up clinics. No doctors order needed.
What is patient first?

There were 370K people tested yesterday and only 25k positives. So many asymptomatics were tested.

I got a message from my personal doctor a few weeks ago that they have tests. I assume I could have asked for one when I went in last week for an ear infection.

Do you guys not have those there? PatientFirst is an extremely ubiquitous chain of Urgent Care medical centers in Virginia/NC (you know, the kind of place where if you need stitches but don't want to go to the ER or you have the flu but no insurance/PCP and just want to pay cash for your one doctors appointment every 5 years).
We call that urgent care center here I think

It's kind of like calling whole foods by the proper name instead of "grocery store."
