Well the vaccine brings the risk levels down to the extent that we don't need masks if we choose not to.
Agreed.

I imagine when all school age children can be vaccinated, that special "masks in schools" proviso will disappear.

In Fairfax County, the fully vaccinated rate for 12-15 is 68%. For 16-17, it's 80%. In PG County, it's 50% for 12+. I'm hoping our willingness to get our 12+ kids vaccinated will results in a different policy than PG County.

Of course, for kids under 12, it's 0%. Yes, elementary students should full mask until they have had the opportunity to get vaccinated.
My kid is 11 and probably won’t be vaccinated by time he starts middle school

I am trying to understand a person’s mentality that gets so bent about kids having to wear masks to school…..and failing. Particularly when the delta variant is beginning to hit us and there is some lack of clarity about potential breakthrough infections, reinfections etc
Speaking of vaccines, got Shingrix #2 yesterday. Restless night and woke up still and achy. Got a workout in. Current boy temp 100.4. Taking my kid to get her braces off today. Wonder if I'll fall asleep waiting for them to finish.
Neighbor I had tacos with last night outdoors, tested positive today for the Vid. She had the J&Jshot.

Whatever

Things are still fluid

I am ok erring on the side of caution

I certainly ain’t going to get bent

Then again you got bent when they cancelled in person teaching last year, remember? Some real jewel posts Space

Trust me when I say you are the last person whose opinion on this I value. You simply have no idea what you are talking about a lot of the time

I can't imagine many hugs are given at your family gatherings.

dude.  he has different values and priorities that clearly don't align with yours.  that's ok.
Yes his priority is whatever he thinks  is convenient for him…when the pandemic started he was livid his kid had to be schooled over the internet.. then his kid liked it and kicked ass so he was cool with it.. now his kid got vaccinated and has to go back to school and might have to wear a mask hence the outrage

It’s like dude try seeing the big picture not just your own
Personally I hope his kid doesn’t have to wear a mask and expect she won’t but the obsession with whatever affects oneself and utter disregard for anyone else is unseemly. Like OMG my kid might have to wear a mask?!? The horror!

My kids have had to wear masks for months and are much younger. Give me a break. It’s not a big thing

I don't use this forum as a place to bitch and complain about my family life all day long, but if you can find something to insult my family about, please do…  but I'd be careful.

Why would you assume that there's not lots of love and hugs in families that have issues? Lots of issues means lots of emotions, one of which is love. I'd be more concerned about the state of families with mousy wives who don't speak their mind and the husband is assumes everything is hunky Dory.

This is such an interesting style of posting

Totally in support of that type of mocking.

Mandatory masks for PG county public schools this fall

Montgomery County follows suit.
Alexandra City Public Schools will not be requiring masks. Arlington will.
