Thanks Space! Good info

There's a better than average chance that this decision gets reversed before the end of August.

The source that I got that from:

https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/coronavirus/dc-area-school-districts-deciding-whether-to-require-masks-this-fall/2745901/

has been edited to say that a decision has not yet been made (whereas before it said there would not be a mask mandate.)

OK, by the end of July then.
Got my contact tracing call from Baltimore County DOH, and then went and got the swab. 2-4 days for results.
Just cancelled a birthday party because my very religious and unvaccinated aunt's very religious and unvaccinated husband (I guess my uncle) just found out that he had spent all of Monday with someone infected with Delta. My aunt spent all of yesterday with my vaccinated mother-in-law who was hosting the now aborted party. It's my birthday, my party. Happy birthday to me, lol.

Edit… Not to make light of their possible worries, but still. Religion!
I know at one point I was pro-choice in terms of vaccinations, but it seems like it might be time to mandate them since not enough people are making the right choice?

CDC: The coronavirus could be 'just a few mutations' away from evading vaccines
Just esoterically, if you’re pro-choice on something until people make a different choice, you were never pro-choice.
The federal government can mandate vaccines for federal government employees and private businesses can do so for their own employees but I don’t believe the federal government can mandate vaccines for all Americans.

In any case, at this point, if the federal government were to mandate vaccination for all Americans I believe two things would immediately happen:

1. It would be challenged in the courts and make it all the way up to the Supreme Court where it would be struck down 6-3 or worse.

2. Full civil war would break out.

Not going to happen.

Court precedent for mandatory vaccination goes back over 100 years. While the current SC is famously knuckleheaded, there's also a long tradition of upholding precedent. The only thing that could hold back a vax requirement is the fact that the vaccines have yet to get full FDA approval.

News: DC will again require masks in all indoor settings, starting Saturday. Mayor Bowser’s order will apply to everyone over age 2, vaccinated or unvaccinated.
^yikes…what's the over/under that shows scheduled from Sept on will still happen
Oh no!
Imagine mandating vaccines in Missouri, Texas or Florida

I just don’t see it

Although I am for it I just don’t see it happening

Do you think #2 would happen if Biden mandated vaccines for the military and not just federal workers?
Only reason I would be worried is cause DC likes to overdo it…

I guess I might be proven wrong but I don’t believe any shows will be canceled
