ADDENDUM: however, someone how knows way more about this stuff that i do pointed out: "The data in China should be taken with a grain of salt: Chinese men smoke more than Chinese women and Chinese populations smoke more than American populations. Smoking is a huge risk factor of respiratory viruses.And a huge caveat to those data and others is the underestimation of the incident rate, which epidemiologists and scientists are saying can be underestimated as much as 10 fold (so that 3% fatality rate becomes a 0.3%…much closer to flu).
Not to say that older people aren’t effected worse, but just to say those numbers are the MAX fatality rate based on potentially faulty data due to the inadequacy of testing/surveillance."
