Having said that we always have gotten all the vaccines and flu shots

Although some negative reactions are like when you take the flu shot, right?

Those side effects are exactly what one would expect from a vaccination of this type.  Also, the side effect of immunity.
Geezus just confirming

Why you all being pricks?

has something changed, that seems to be the norm ;)
Hmm…not 100% what he is saying about enforceable standards, but I guess we'll wait and see

Ralph Northam@GovernorVA
BREAKING: In the absence of federal action, Virginia has just become the first state in the nation to adopt *enforceable* workplace safety standards for #COVID19.

Workers should not have to sacrifice their health and safety to earn a living—especially not during a pandemic.

It’s reasonable for me to be cautious if a new vaccine is produced in record time: a few months

Agreed. Clinical trials normally take years.  Any trial that is completed in months would seemingly ignore long term effects, for starters. Seems like that would be important in this particular case.

Again, what long term affects are you afraid of w/r/t a vaccine? Vaccines either confer immunity or they don't.

The only long term side effect of a vaccine is immunity.

for a vaccine to be approved, the benefits (ex: immunity) have to vastly outweigh the risks (including side-effects).  so you're much better off getting vaccinated than not, but you can't say the only side-effect of getting vax'ed is immunity.
@charlesornsteinI had hoped it was a glitch, but no…The @CDCgov  hospital capacity dashboard has gone dark. @CDCDirector
has said CDC still has access to the data but apparently the public no longer does.

Vaccines are not approved by the CDC, right?
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA’s) Center for Biologics Evaluation and ResearchExternal (CBER) is responsible for regulating vaccines in the United States.

Testing and evaluation of the vaccine before it’s licensed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and recommended for use by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

FDA approves, CDC recommends

Well this is good news to counter that
@JohnsHopkins
We do not currently source any data from the CDC, so reporting on JHU’s coronavirus dashboards (U.S. & Global) will not be affected
.
So I should just accept without skepticism the recommendations of this highly politicized CDC that the vaccine is good to go…say hypothetically like in October, right before the election?

I would take advice from a local medical doctor rather than some rando CDC employee or washed up music forum boardie.
Will the local doc have access to the information that led the CDC to issue its recommendation?
And will the local doc spend days analyzing all this data? How do you know the doc won’t just do as usual and assume if the CDC says so they must have good reason? Do you think most docs realize just how corrupt the current CDC and all these government agencies might become in order to deliver an October surprise to save a Trump presidency? Should I ask our kids Dr if they are Republican?

hey man, don't be so hard on yourself ;)

Is the forum, the club, or us boardies washed up? Or some combination of the three?
I think he was referring to Sweetcell..

Anyways Hutchette has a Masters in Public Health and works with CDC regularly so am sure we will follow HER recommendation…Maybe I will ask her sometime for her thoughts

So are you saying she's compromised?
I will challenge her of course…..but she will make the call..
