COVID-19 2020

Well it’s an interesting hypothetical

Bob will be 80 in May
Neil just turned 75

Willie is 87

The most productive recording musician still going is Neil Young

But Bob is still gigging what 80 shows a year?

Willie puts out a good 2 albums a year but is struggling to keep it together live..lots of cancellations due to health

The one most likely to die from covid is of course Willie followed by Bob

Didn’t Neil get covid really early in game or was that Darryl Hannah?

All three I hope live another 20 years

Willie is practically an angel..

Well Dolly is 74 and she helped fund the Moderna vaccine.

And she *is* an angel.

So move her to the front.
2611 new deaths reported today

I hope it’s mainly a backlog and the number will go way down soon but that might be wishful thinking

Unfortunately I think that may be wishful thinking.

People need to hunker down until Spring.

My in-laws invited us to Indiana for Xmas, where to them "COVID is no big deal." The answer is a big fat no.
I agree with you

My oldest sister who is immune system compromised spent thanksgiving with her in-laws

I know they took every precaution… still I was pretty shocked

But people really do need to hunker down

It’s the patriotic thing to do

Unfortunately people just can’t help thinking it won’t happen to them but when almost everyone thinks like that it does happen to too many

I miss seeing people too but maybe it’s just easier for me… my father in law dying and my mom being in Argentina took that issue off the table…no hard choices for me

and let's be honest, it's Indiana in December.  sure there are some nice breweries and seeing family is nice (for about an hour), but frankly this might be the one situation where i'd be grateful for the pandemic.

Yeah, we usually break up the visit with a trip into Chicago and another trip to Three Floyds. This year would just be us camped out in a basement for days after a 13 hour drive, while Fox News thunderously blasts in the floor above us, punctuated by religion themed holiday specials. And it's too freaking cold to go for a run and there's no sidewalks available to do it on anyway. And it gets dark at 4pm. And the landscape is gray and bleak and totally flat.

woah.  big name.

who is the most famous person who died from the 'rona?  on this side of the atlantic, i'm thinking herman cain?  roy horn (of siegfried & roy)? nick cordero's fight against the disease got some mainstream heat…

(i suspect someone here is going to say john prine, but c'mon - he's beloved, but not widely famous)

Take your pick from this list.

https://people.com/health/celebrity-coronavirus-deaths/

I'm going with Tom Seaver.

You're right, John Prine (and Adam Schlesinger) are my musical favorites on that list, but Joe Diffie was pretty huge in the the mainstream country world in the 90's (five number one hits, 18 top 10 hits).

At least they were arrested, but only after the flight happened

You think there the first people to step on a flight knowing they have COVID-19? It bet it happens hundreds of times a week.
Obama, Bush and Clinton say they'll get vaccine publicly to prove safety http://hill.cm/bcZsluq

(pre-covid pic)

Kinda crazy how all three of these guys are younger than the two who ran for pres this year

Playing professional and collegiate sports in the current context is lunacy. The insistence on providing “circus” is just sad.

I missed this in that story
The positivity rate of roughly 9% is below the national average, which is hovering around 10%.

yikes…so they are actually lower than the general population!
