Actual Banter about Music

Rare interview with Kate Bush that starts about 13 minutes in, but the intro is worth a listen as well

I knew Glastonbury was a huge festival, but learned that there are 93 official stages at it and the BBC has tasked someone with visiting all 93 throughout the weekend.
that's insane, there is no way there are 93 stages
I've been to Glasto and there was definitely not 93 stages (albeit 15ish years ago).

EDIT: I just looked at their website and it seems Glastonbury has become Coachella + Hopscotch; small local bars and venues now have shows during the duration of the proper festival and its all considered one big thing.
Never took Cock Palm as a Billy Strings guy
1st time seeing him.  I'll let you know, but I like bluegrass and jam bands occasionally and I've heard such great things from friends/family…we'll see.
A man named Trey Anastasio has anointed two, third tier hamband guitar players to knighthood in the past week.
When you arrogantly believe the Circle Jerks recorded the original version of "I Wanna Destroy You" and Robyn Hitchcock shows up and corrects your sorry asre…

at Scala, Kings Cross.
So exactly are these 90's power pop that people are carrying on about, because I listened to a ton of major label and indie power pop in the 90s.  never really considered Too Much Joy a power pop band..

off the top of my head the better known power pop bands of the 90s would have been

Semisonic
Fountains of Wayne
Sloan
Posies

I was also listening to

Love Nut/Myrcale Brah
The Caulfields
Greenberry Woods
WMUC has moved from 88.1 to 90.5

Plus, they have tripled their power. 30 watts now, baby!
someone may need to check on smackie when he sees this one..

The Welsh band Rusty Nutz self described as "experimental noise pop group" have released an album called "We tried to make it big but something somewhere went wrong and we can't work out what that something is" on

21 Formats!!!!

Of which I guess at least 7 are obsolete formats… not sure about the status of  DATs,

Gonna grab this one on the boring Digital download format…  A very UK punk influenced album, hearing the likes of Still Little Fingers on it.

Had to look up some of the cassettes formats this is on including  Elcaset, Digital Compact Cassette, Sound Tape Cartridge, Audio Craft Cassette and NT Digital.

Both Elcaset and Sound Tape Cartridge were attempts to bring reel to reel quality to the Cassette format.  The Elcaset is totally wacky format.

When I hear ‘welsh band’ there is only one bordie I think of
And it’s not smax

It’s the number of physical formats involved in the release silly

And you do know Wales has a rich history of bands beyond SFA and Tom Jones

dead format.  other than a few studios that still use it to transfer high-quality copies, and trance DJs who still have collections of their late 90's/early-2000's pirated white label copies, no one is using DAT anymore.
So I guess the fate would be the same for the compact video cartridges as well then…
