was looking up a young (under 20) and i guess very up and coming artist who is playing the equivalent of the black cat in other cities and the tickets were $75 and up…

A contest to see The Moz in concert…with an odd bonus
Morrissey is about to head out on his first US tour in three years, and we're giving one lucky fan the chance to go to the concert of their choice and meet drummer Brendan Buckley.
I’m sure he’s a nice guy but really

Likely as part of the prize is you get to sit behind the kit after sound check
I mean, when I think of morrissey, I always think about the drum solos

How do y'all feel about encores?

I can do without them. Just add them to the end of the regular set and just let people know this is our last song. No reason to sit around for another 5-10 minutes at the end of a long night.

Encores should be earned not automatic. If a band finishes and the crowd is REALLY into it by all means come back out and play an extra song.

although I get the band might need a bio break after 90 mins or to just sit down and have drink of water
lot of these artists are in their 70s now
I think it should be a 1 hour set, 10 min break, come out for 20-30 more…then only return if the crowd is going bonkers
the thing i can't stand about the forced encore is the need/expectation to clap and cheer for 5-10 minutes until the band comes back out, even though you know full well they'll be coming back out regardless. it's like a mandatory ritual that isn't always called for.
i forget which show it was, but there was one occasion when the crowd's enthusiasm didn't hold up for the duration of the in-between period. by the time the band came back out, crowd noise had almost completely died out and they were setting up for the encore in relative silence. felt so forced and awkward.

Based on tweets from both Ride and The Charlatans a few minutes apart, I'm sensing a co-headlining US and Canada tour announcement coming from them soon.. i could be wrong and they will touring separately, but the timing seems a bit to of a coincidence
Looks like the Ride/The Charlatans US is pretty much a given…
Wow I am there if it comes to DC but where? Smells like Fillmore spirit…
