Musicological banter

never seen the boss with long hair

JULY 11 1971
The Bruce Springsteen Band opened for Humble Pie at the Sunshine In, Asbury Park in New Jersey. After the show an impressed Peter Frampton from Humble Pie, tells Springsteen and the band he'd like to have them open for them on a national basis. Frampton also said he would be happy to get the band an audition with his record label, A & M Records. For no logical reason Springsteen’s manager Tinker West declined both offers on the spot
This is a bit like when I saw Marshall Crenshaw with long hair

Steel Mill baby! Their biggest fanbase outside NJ was in Richmond…

A+ Musicological banter

"Try That In A Small Town" is a pretty offensive song for sure, but as a songwriter, I'm also offended that it took 5 people to write that steaming pile of crap RS

I also liked Sheryl Crow'as take on this "It's Just Lame"
Chuck D nailed this one, so very true

When the industry media covers a artists death and obituary BETTER than the independent most recent work of artists… it makes you question any true integrity of support.

Walkie must be pretty beat up..he was a big Sinead fan
The thing about this song and which is hammered home by the video is just how incongruous its message is with country music historically. You’re talking about “try punching a cop in a small town” and singing it in front of the county courthouse. The zombies of Waylon Jennings and Hank Williams should be rising from the grave and kicking this dudes ass. It’s hilarious how the Jason Aldeans of the world are “outlaws” then create the carry the water for cops crap. Pick a lane.
it's like the guys who have the 'don't tread on me' flag, right next to the US flag with the blue line in it

Either you don't like authoritarian control, or you do…pick a side, can't have it both ways

Exactly. Perfect example. Cops for thee, not for me.

But again, just the gall of a country musician shooting a video next to the historic “best friend” of every country musician historically: the county courthouse.
and of course is was only a matter of time for him to claim, in front of thousands of fans, that he was a victim of cancel culture

blasted woke mind virus some of us have

May we all be so lucky to be cancelled all the way to the biggest hit of our career.
this was one of my favorites from this incident

@JasonIsbell
Ok here ya go @Jason_Aldean I’m challenging you to write a song yourself. All alone. If you’re a recording artist, make some art. I want to hear it.
Oh onion, how I love thee

Man Who Said N-Word Standing Near Guitar Reaches Top Of Country Billboard Charts
This headline made me giggle

Protests give Jason Aldean too much credit for his terrible country song
