Musicological banter

protest music from corp pop music machine…Ha!

Gaza has been just about the only rally cry as of late of the punk/independent artists and while people want to make it black and white, a complex issue with faults on all sides

this authoritarian rise, suppressing speech, the demonization of the 'other' and the demise of democracy is not getting enough focus, people are comfortable and not wanting to rock the boat

but I agree, we need more Dead Kennedys, The Clash, Bob Dylan and Woody

This is what we need more of

The BBC are accidentally running the subtitles to Mrs Marple over the Mercury Prize, and it’s rather wonderful. A few of lines could plausibly have been written by Jarvis.

so if you are in need in of some trendy gently expressive guitar work and mesmerizing, ambient loops then you won't go wrong with flawed mangoes

to be fair flawed mangoes music is called hopecore, primarily because his music was being picked as the soundtrack to hopecore content…  would say it's more indietronic than anything

Why didn't you say so in the first place.  That changes everything.

I went to an Oklahoma football game earlier this year and they did a similar thing where everyone’s phone who did the QR thing made “foot fall” sounds and the flashlights became mini strobes that went on and off in unison as part of the marching bands halftime show. It was a neat use of technology.
hutch has a lot to answer for here  ;)

Favourite new badly-translated Argentinian album title of the week has to go to a-Ha's "Hunting High and Low" which somehow becomes "Big Game Hunting and Small Game Hunting" and contains the smash hit "Take It For Me".

Dude don’t get me started on the incredibly bad and laughable job argentines did translating album titles! Sometimes wildly hilarious….and embarrassing.
The Big Star Quintet for their UK dates have swapped out Pat Sansone for a fella named Norman Blake

Very weird considering how many sites have abandoned comments.
