Great signing for both Toon and him. You've got holes and he needs the experience. He's going to be a great defender one day.

I too saw that Roeder was downplaying it as he was discounting Gavrancic.

Okay,my therapist said it would be okay to address my "issue" now….if arseholes keep sqeaking out these wins they may even make it into europe next season, and play such giants as FC Boratstan. 6 points out of 6 from United is pretty much grounds for suicide in my house.
Hey at least that Freight train is still heading full speed through Stamford Bridge!

ONYEWU TO FRANCE
SAN FRANCISCO (SI.com) – U.S. central defender Oguchi Onyewu is transferring to French club Olympique Marseille, according to a report in SoccerTimes.com.
The 24-year-old, who has played for Belgian club Standard de Liège since 2004, had been linked with some of the top teams in Europe, including Real Madrid, Chelsea, AC Milan and Lyon.
Marseille will reportedly pay Standard a $4 million transfer fee.
Earlier this month, Standard rejected a reported $2 million transfer fee from Premiership club Fulham, which would have reunited Onyewu with fellow Team USA members Brian McBride, Carlos Bocanegra and Clint Dempsey, all of whom play for Fulham.
Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 210 pounds, "Gooch" has developed a reputation as a big, bruising defender and was a key member of the United States' back line at the World Cup in Germany last summer. Following the tournament, the Washington, D.C.-area native turned down an offer to move to English club Middlesbrough.
Onyewu was recently voted Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Soccer Federation. He made his first appearance for the U.S. national team in '04.
Onyewu's arrival as a Team USA stalwart, however, was during a World Cup qualifying victory vs. Mexico in September '05 in Columbus, Ohio. Onyewu dominated Mexico's star striker, Jared Borgetti, helping the U.S. win that game 2-0 and clinch a spot in Germany '06 as a result.
Marseille is one of the biggest and best-supported teams in France, and is the only French club to have won the European Champions League, in 1993. L'OM also has eight Ligue 1 titles and a record 10 French Cup titles to its credit, as well as a Champions League runner-up spot in '91 and two UEFA Cup runner-up spots.
The club has hit a slump in recent years, however, failing to finish higher than third place in the French league since the '02-03 season. Marseille is currently in second place behind leader Lyon, and is nearing a purchase by Canadian businessman Jack Kachkar.

I think they're not putting Newcastle on telly because bottom of the table battles to avoid relegation don't get exciting until the last couple of weeks of the season…..
BTW, this confirms that Lippi is the next chelski manager…
Mourinho receives Chelsea backing
Chelsea have responded to claims they have lined up Marcello Lippi as their next manager with a public show of support for current boss Jose Mourinho.
"No list of candidates has been drawn up to replace Jose Mourinho," said a Chelsea statement on Thursday.
"Nobody from Chelsea has spoken to Mr Lippi or his representatives or indeed anyone regarding the manager's job.
"As previously stated, Jose Mourinho has a contract until 2010 and has the support of everybody at Chelsea."
***He's so out of there come summer!***

Saturday, Feb 3
7:45 Liverpool v Everton (Setanta)
10:00 Fulham v Newcastle (SetantaX - replay on Set at 12:00)
10:00 Charlton v Chelsea (Setanta)
10:00 Aston Villa v West Ham (FSC)
12:00 Middlesboro v Arsenal (FSC)
2:15 Man City v Reading (FSC)
Sunday, Feb 4
11:00 Spurs v Man United (FSC)
I must say, I'm more excited about the United game than the Super Bowl, yet I will likely watch it with a crowd of 3 and the Super bowl with a crowd of 20.

right. which is why (next week) putting on liverpool (3rd) against newcastle (9th) would be a better match up with a larger audience than shef (16) vs spuds (10th)
by your criteria, ass10/spammers (14 v 18) is the worst fixture of the week. jus sayin
really, i just want logic of some sort for the last few months before i get direct tv
