On the Eve of the new Season...

yeah was it like up-converted or something? it had some weird ghosts going on

has a pretty good time at dcu though. i plan on going back

this not being able to see newcastle matches is pretty frustrating though. theyre actually winning for fucks sake
The picture on the L'pool match today was gorgeous.  There were still some starts and stops, but all in all an improvement over FSC or Setanta.

Finally got around to seeing Jozy's debut today as well.  Brilliant.  Could have better if he would have passed a little more, but I'm going to be watching a lot of Hull City matches this season.  Loved the Brits doing the USA chant every time he touched the ball.

EDIT: I'm told what we got on Saturday morning was 16x9 576i (which would make sense if it was taken from the original British broadcast). It was still better than 4x3 480i, the standard for FSC and Setanta.
I've just finished the first of few rough weekends coming up so the schedule may be not as timely as you're used to, but it will improve by the end of September:

speaking of liverpool, its early but i can see this being a tough year for them. frankly i'm rooting harder for that than ever considering what their supporters did to steven cohen

Dunne Sold to Villa

Not that hard to predict.

The Chanpions League draw on the other hand, a little tougher to predict.
very good news. one less team interested in taylor

arse get an easy group and you sound surprised????? I've yet to figure out how Platini and his band of gangsters fiddle that shit…….but I will.

i didnt say i was surprised, but if manu switched groups with arsenal i'd still like both to go through. not a big fan of the group stages to begin with

looks like nothing big on deadline day so far
Question: what is SETANTA PREMIUM and are there bars around town that carry that?

I'd like to see the Argentina-Brazil qualifier this weekend but have no earthly clue where to watch it!

It's a pay-per-view channel that is only on satellite or select bars.  I would check the Cap Lounge, Lucky Bar or Summers in VA.

There's probably been a few more added since I left, but someone else will have to provide that info.
you can watch it at Fado for $10

Good to know thanks.

I'd pay $10 to watch Hutch watch Maradona's last game in charge, but I'd pay $1000 to watch the Maradona self-destruction after he gets canned….

I'd probably pay for that too.

Lastly, and this one's for you, my friend Barcelona…A good friend and drinking buddy of mine is head of Parks here in SF.  He called me this morning to invite me to Barca's practice tomorrow here in SF.

It's twice as funny because I'm such the gadget guy, but truth is smackette is the photographer in the house so I kind of ignore the digital camera stuff, but I spent the morning with Barcelona's squad and was in relatively good position to see them as evidenced by the picture below, but in the end I had my camera set to black and white so all 36 pictures are B&W!!!!!

Hey, had been pretty much on vacation from the board for the last three months. Getting back now. Do you have a link to the pictures you took? these unofficial pictures tend to be the best ones, you see who gets along with who, the mood in the day-to-day life of the team…
