On the Eve of the new Season...

"Just spoke to Gerard Houllier: Stephen Ireland move to Newcastle still ON despite rumours of a failed medical, Aston Villa and Newcastle in talks as we speak. Michael Bradley is a "done deal" and Ashley Young is "100% staying".

(i didn't speak with Houllier you understand..I'm just copying and pasting from bbc)
I hear Adam is off to Anfield as well.

There was a rumour United were in the mix for him but it turned out it was just Dalglish trying to imitate SAF so he would be excited about a move!!
awful lot of business for liverpool. they dont even have a manager for next season

i'm gutted over carroll. no we get another striker worth a damn in before the window closes. and the money wont be there in the summer even if we stay up. awful stuff

never buying a shirt with a players name again
"Mike Ashley bought the club for £134 million, so it looks like Andy Carroll is worth a quarter of the club. Crackers isn't it?"

"Mesut Ozil+Sami Khedira+Van Der Vaart+Javier Hernandez = Andy Carroll."

Oh and Tottenham have put a bid in to bring Guisseppe Rossi back to the Prem league.  that will annoy me.

RETRO!!! It's the only way to go. My Man Utd jersey is 1960's old school cotton long sleeve with just the 11 on the back. (George Best) although he also wore 7. That was back in the day when the number represented the position on the field…1 goalie, 2 right back, 3 left back, 4 right mid, 5 centre half, 6 left mid, 7 right wing,  8 inside right, 9 center forward, 10 inside left, 11 left wing…12, 13, 14 subs. That's back when every team played a 2-3-5 set up. WOW!!! I'm old eh?

I will probably throw up a little if Rossi comes back to haunt us. I was pissed when we sold him in the first place.

I like this deal.  Villa is a good place for his style of play (and of course, the more Americans start playing in England the better off the national squad will be).

You have to assume that with all this cash being thrown around, Daglish has his hand in this and it's his job next season, right?

also ireland failed his medical

This deal is done now.  I forgot he played for Houllier before, and I don't think it went well.
Hehe.

[Comment From Andrew ]
John, who is your biggest winner in the deadline so far? Who do you think will benefit on the final table the most?

John Brewin: Mike Ashley's bookmaker, casino owner or favoured bar.
All this activity bodes well for United and Arse….big new signings in Jan can eff up team chemistry for a few weeks.

I think that's why SAF and Wenger aren't that active mid-season, unless they're pushed into it to snatch a player they had their eye on but seems to be on the move.
Apparently both Spurs and Liverpool failed to get Adam.  Good for Blackpool, but what the hell would Spurs do with Adam?
next day and i am still gutted
Did you ever go out on the ale and wake up the next morning to remember what an idiot you made of yourself? "Oh God…what did I do last night?"

Well - I think there's a couple of players and check writers saying the same thing this morning….
absolutely

andy's already in the press saying he didnt want to move. liverpool just spent £35m on a player that doesnt want to be there. unreal
It's about fuckin time.

It's time for the rest of the league to start getting nervous.

YEP! They can win as much as they want but they need us to lose!!!
Can we talk about why the two best games are not on TV in the States today?

Retarded.
