what?? ARe SMackie and Mankie still drunk?? :)

I tell ya - yesterday was one of the longest days of my life - stuck in jury selection all day getting updates on my phones - get out just as extra timeis starting - get home just as ronnie misses the penalty - basically think we're fucked - and then boom, we're CHampions of Europe again!!!

hahaha…terrydrogbaanelka so funny

about 88 minutes in i realized that i didnt record the program after. thanks for replaying it espn 2

i actually thought smackie might be in moscow
I guess Chelskzzz are ESPN's babies…not once during regulation did they show the United supporters but we had the Moscovites who were most certainly coerced into the stadium wearing blue and white were rammed down our throats about every 5 minutes or so.

The commentators must've been watching a different game than I was because you'd think chelskzz were playing a bunch of trash cans spread about the field. REALITY CHECK…United dominated the first half, chelskzzz the second and United extra time. The game could've gone either way but the best team in Europe over the course of the competition won the final..

When Anelka walked up to take the penalty I said to my wife "we've won" You could see on his face and from his body language he had no confidence in taking that kick. As for Terry.. HA HA YOU FUCKING PRICK!!! No sympathy here because he's nothing short of a thug. Did Becks get any sympathy when he slipped taking a pk during the world cup???

I lost totaly respect for Joe Cole..what a fucking cry-baby. I used to think he was the exception at Stamford Bridge but it looks like it wore off on him.

MANCHESTER UNITED, CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE 2008{b]

I believe if you go on ebay there's a Stamford Bridge trophy cabinet up for auction.
Congratulations to Manchester United, the best team in Europe this year, no doubt. As usual, every time Manchester United is there you have a great final, the one yesterday reminded me of the 1999 final against Bayern Munich. I just hope we have a chance to play Manchester United next year in the Champions League.

With games like this, I confirm my preference for the Champions League over any other tournament, I am quite sure the Euro this coming month won't have games like this one.

No no. Smackette graduated on Monday and I had to be in Sacramento on Tuesday and Wednesday so I wasn't able to go.
Thanks for the reference to Barcelona and very appropriate reference to Franco when talking about Real Madrid! Alex, you are the best.

Ferguson slams Real over Ronaldo

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has accused Real Madrid of lacking morals in their pursuit of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Real coach Bernd Schuster and president Ramon Calderon have both expressed a desire to see Ronaldo at The Bernabeu.

Ferguson, fresh from United's Champions League truimph, said: "Schuster's talking and Calderon's talking.

"Real think they can ride roughshod over everyone, but they won't do it with us. They have no moral issues."

And Ferguson drew a comparison with Real's fierce rivals Barcelona as he fought to draw a line under continuing speculation surrounding the 23-year-old Portuguese winger's future.

He said: "In terms of great clubs, Barcelona have far better morality than Real Madrid will ever have. Real use this Marca newspaper as a vehicle to unsettle players.

"Do you not think we have had many expressions of interest about our players from big clubs in Europe?

"Real Madrid are not the only club interested in Ronaldo. But the others are not saying so. They don't get into this nonsense.

"Calderon makes that great statement 'slavery was abolished many years ago'. Did they tell General Franco that? Give me a break.

"The simple fact is Cristiano has another four years left on his contract."

United have sold David Beckham, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Gabriel Heinze to Real in recent years, but Ferguson insisted the case of Ronaldo was different.

He said: "Yes, we sold them Van Nistelrooy and Beckham but we did that because we wanted to."

And Argentine defender Heinze was transferred to Real last summer after failing in a public battle to secure a move to United's arch-rivals Liverpool.
The Franco line is GREAT!

I've sobered up but not come down yet!!!!

There's one other minor point about Real Madrid and Man Utd….we sold the other's because they were approaching 'has been' status. Maybe in about 8 years or so we'll offload Ronaldo to them.
Simply Red singer and Manchester United fanatic Mick Hucknall was reluctantly dragged away from watching the Champions League final penalty shoot-out by concert organisers at a charity function he was performing at. (Daily Express)

Munster became kings of Europe for a second time as a ferociously committed display saw them edge past Toulouse in the Heineken Cup final in Cardiff.

Barcelona striker Thierry Henry was set to join Manchester United for £10m until the Spanish side's new boss Pep Guardiola blocked the move two weeks ago.

WOW!!! I would bring him to Old Trafford in a heartbeat. As much as I hate arseholes I considered Henry a great player and decent bloke. Even during the UTD v Barca tie he was the only one who actually took a shot rather than try to dribble the ball over the line.

Predictions??

I'd say this game has a draw written all over it. The doodles are just getting their season going so still ironing out the bugs and the brits just wrapped up so the last thing they want to do is play a pointless friendly. ALthough I just thought, how many doodles play for their club teams in the US? If they played the game at Craven Cottage the US could've walked to the ground.

3-0 England. Maybe 4.
