OK, how about Eddie Gray at Leeds?
That's a much better example of bringing in a once favorite player (he even had managerial experience!) to save a squad that ended miserably.

its already miserable. the toon stands 18th, and we stand to get nothing from our next two games. i mean, the end is pretty much passed
chris hughton does not have any managerial experience either. newcastle needs to win 3/8 when he's won 1 game this year out of (i believe) 11. do you really think he would have pulled it out?
i cant speak for the geordie nation, but ive said since the window closed that i thought we were going down. maybe i will be proven wrong but i cant see 8 games killing the shearer legacy

I watch a lot of soccer, even delving into some reserve squad matches on MUTV, constantly read about the squad on the internet - you name it. But I have NEVER heard of the kid, I still can't even pronounce his full name, though I can tell you this - he's my new favorite Italian footballer!
Outside of that, United were shite (save for the heckyl-jeckyl that is Darren Fletcher, who was crap two weeks ago but a stud today). Very fortunate to get one point, let alone three.

i didnt think you guys would pull it out, honestly. but those are three points that champs pick up and second and third place teams drop. pretty fun to watch
if liverpool win the league and toon go down, i might have to switch to serie a next year

I'm watching the Mets and Reds on ESPN360 and I see that they play the Coca Cola Championship games on 360 as well (Birmingham City vs Wolves), so you've got that going for you.

Força Barça!
we are playing quite well this year. still afraid of Bayern Munich, even after their 5-1 defeat on Saturday.

I don't understand how they played on Sunday knowing they were playing today against Porto. Is it tv rights or something they could do nothing about?

According to one of the announcers, I think it was Tommy, Fergie had the option of moving the game to Saturday and chose not to. I can't see this being true, and if it is, a very questionable decision.

also i would assume they'd have to switch that match with either the toon or pool match and have to get chelski or liverpool to agree. i sure wouldnt
