On the Eve of the new Season...

of course, anyone would be pissed.

then again its not like barca has the money to buy and pay cesc anyway
Looks like Henry was finally punished for his handball….

Red Bulls confirm capture of France star Henry
punished? get paid to be treated like a rock star in a city he loves while half playing? sounds like a dream to me

He's only 32, which is not too old to play in Europe, and I'm not sure he's a rock star away from the Meadowlands (or where ever they play now).  I doubt most New Yorkers will recognize him.
they have their own arena. every hispanic person in new york will worship him. where could he realistically play?

if new yorkers not recognizing people is the measuring stick, fine youre right there. i mean samuel l. jackson rides the subway
my german-supporting brother-in-law was aghast at my ballack-hate during vacation. it was pretty awesome
GrantWahl: Sir Alex Ferguson hopes to use Chicharito in Houston Wed. Confirms Chicharito will play 1 half w/Chivas & 1 half w/ManUtd in Mexico Friday.

Man City Reveal They are Trying to Sign Donovan

I would have to punch you if you purchased a jersey.
i have my team usa jersey, that's enough
signs it's early august: i'm nearly done with "how soccer explains the world", i just spent my lunch looking at vintage tops on ebay, and the toon have "nearly" signed 3 guys that will never play in black and white. oh and it's really hot outside
Haha.

I read Fever Pitch again last month as I couldn't find my copy of Among the Thugs.

I send a morning email to my brother in law exchanging United rumors (of course this year we spend most of the time figuring out who qualifies as home grown and who's under 21 before January).

I have yet to hide WFD, ManU and others in Facebook as there's no fear of a midday spoiler.

Oh yeah, and it's pea soup fog outside my office.
Sir Alex says Cleverly is not going out on loan.  Sorry about that tease.
i'd rather have a player the toon has a prayer of buying at some point in that spot, to be honest

Aren't we getting arrogant?  How quickly we forget that staying up should be this year's goal.

And that was the ugliest goal I've seen Chicharito score, but the kid's clearly got a gift.  And the crowd LOVES him.
no, arrogance would be between a cleverly loan and an arfa loan with a buy option taking cleverly with a buy option. hughton has to get value period

martin oneill resigned. my guess is they're selling milner and he doesn't get to spend it all. sound familiar?

Nicky Shorey is out too (West Brom).  That would have angered me as much as Milner.  Right on the doorstep too….
i like shorey, but marty sure didn't. at 29 it's not a huge loss

but milner is just the manager killer

Maybe Ashley Young then?  I just don't think Milner's impending exit is enough (and it's been coming for a while so why now?).

Either way, they were so close to making that leap.  Sad.
ok ashley young makes sense. plus the last two teams villa should sell to are city and spurs
