On the Eve of the new Season...

Can we talk about Arsenal playing 11 of their first 15 matches in London, for just a second?

That's simply ridiculous and is a large part of why they're top of the table.
bound to happen when you have a quarter of the league from one city

OK - but of those 11 matches, only one was on the road (at Tottenham). The rest were at Emirates Stadium.
at west ham too

but i agree, that's too many home games. however, newcastle has yet to play a big 4 team outside of the league cup, so i'm not complaining ;)

I wasn't even counting that match! 12 out of 15! Ridiculous.
if id complain about anything its the 8 fixtures that the toon plays in december. but if i have the week between christmas and new years off again, this would make me really happy

Tottenham Hotspur's 2-1 defeat at home to Getafe in the UEFA Cup proved to be Martin Jol's last game in charge at White Hart Lane after he tendered his resignation ahead of the game. Reports first suggested the embattled Dutchman has been sacked by an increasingly dissatisfied Spurs board, but reports suggest Jol jumped before he was pushed.

He was the guy Chelsea were rumored to be after. I can't see Tottenham out spending Chelsea to buy Sevilla's allegiance.
i actually favored ramos over big sam last spring. i guess i'd rather he made chelsea fun to watch

Ramos is in - I think Ireland should at least strongly consider Jol for their now vacant job as well - I'm a big Jol fan

They're about to advance in the Champions League, and he leaves them? Amazing…
they arent doing well in the league. got to get the pay day

Admittedly, since Becks came to America, Smackette has spared me from watching La Liga and I didn't realize they were struggling in Spain.
i knew that from reading it somewhere. i'll watch real/barca if i remember, though
Sevilla is still struggling after the death of Puerta at the end of August. They should be back in the top positions by Christmas, but who knows these teams sometimes can't seem to be able to deal with the expectations raised by the fans after a good season. However, they pretty much are in the next phase of the Champions League, so it would be surprising if Ramos left now.

As for games in Spain, besides the Madrid Barcelona, you should always pay attention to the Valencia Barcelona, always crazy games. The Valencia Madrid and the games of the two big with Sevilla should be fun to watch. There are other very decent teams that in England could be in the top 5 or 6 such as Atletico Madrid, Zaragoza or Villareal (by the way Robert Pires is playing really well this season).

By the way, I have always liked Totenham, my team in London.

That's because he's not playing in the mans league anymore, the big girls blouse.

I don't post replay times, but Setanta replays every match later in the day if it's better suited for your DVR. FSC replays are not always on the same day, but some are.
