On the Eve of the new Season...

I'd think it's safe to say Manchester is the epicenter of English football at this point in time.

;D
you guys said it would not happen with city but tevez is again a winner
Having Tevez on the field definately motivates the other lazy arses to step it up a notch.

I was rooting for Stoke but it was pretty obvious after the first 10 minutes it was going to be a lob-sided affair.

They're definitely going to be one of the stronger sides in the Europa League next season… ;-)
didn't carlito try and quit halfway through the season?
^yah he's a bit of a rabblerouser lately

and off the national side too

No offense to any members with latin blood, but he's your typical cry-baby prima-donna south American professional athlete..

"WAH WAH WAH I a donna wanna play chere na mo"

Shut the f*ck up and go cash your paycheck! Oh, and FYI…THE UNIVERSE DOES NOT F*CKING ROTATE AROUND YOU.

*Where are we on the 'F' bomb these days? Can we use grown up words, just not in the subject title? Or not at all?

plenty of english prima donnas too. maybe even more so
The English just shag their team mates wags….well the scumbags do anyway.

If you're referring to the Rooney saga I think there's more than meets the eye there, and I don't think that soap opera has run it's course yet.

I definately think the south americans are much more tempramental (sp?) than their European counterparts. Just from a ref standpoint, if I see a team of south americans warming up I know I'm in for amature dramatics and a lot of whining and complaining. If it's a bunch of Europeans then I'm in for a bit of name calling. "You blind twat" etc. but not much more. Amuurcan players tend to behave more like the You'reapeein teams, with a bit of diving thrown in.

less tempermental toward refs? have you ever seen a chelsea match??

They don't count…..or matter.
i dont know man. its hard for me to name members of the english national team that arent awful jerks

(we arent allowed to say f'ing c's right?)
its cultural…a lot of south american players come from countries where there is no law

i am sick of it myself
And how on earth are you referencing temperamental footballers comparing Latin Americans to Euro's and not once mentioned the Italians?

Yep…you're right, bad choice of words on my part. I was 'thinking' British, Irish, German, French, Dutch and Scandinavians (northern Europeans?) so just gouped them as Europeans. The Italians most certainly give the south americans a run for their money. The Spanish as well to a lesser degree.

You know who I find the most frustrating to ref? The Argentinians. They will vehemently argue over the absolute slightest thing, llike a matter 6" when setting the wall or placing the ball for a free kick. And they love to play the victim. I never find them to be dirty or take cheap shots off the ball, but I'm convinced they would rather be fouled and earn a penalty than to actually score a goal from open play. I can't tell you how many times I've played the advantage and they've scored while their team mates are screaming at me for a penalty. Then still complained I never awarded the penalty after the goal is scored.

The Brits are arrogant on the field and try to educate the refs on the laws of the game. Even if they have no idea what the hell they are talking about most of the time. I suppose because we invented the game they feel they are the foremost authority on it. WRONG! Some of the laws that have been recited to me during a game are just hilarious. For example, I called a foul on a Brit for pushing in the back. 'WHAT!! WHAT!! YOU'RE TAKING THE PISS MATE' this was the law of of the game he recited to me "I CAME AWAY FROM THE CHALLENGE WITH CLEAR AND OBVIOUS POSESSION OF THE BALL" (huh?) So I finished his 'law' for him…"AFTER CLEARLY AND OBVIOUSLY PUSHING HIM WITH BOTH ARMS IN THE CENTER OF HIS BACK TO GAIN POSESSION OF SAID BALL"

As for the Americans. I'm beginning to come to the conclusion that the part of the brain that processes the offside law is missing from the American brain. It must be a genetic anomaly.

Mankie, you mention the italians and the spaniards? you are forgetting the worst ones, the portuguese.

anyhow, anyone going to Wembley? i am going, got a ticket. flying from central america.
yah i know your view of argentines

pains me to agree..

not all argentine players are like that but more than not

i do repeat though that its cultural….if you grew up playing there you'd likely be the same..there is no law…no authority..no justice so everyone is left to their own defenses and you do whatever you have to to get ahead

but there are good ones too…
thats great barcelona! very jealous
