better yet - quatar!
(sorry, shoeshine)
i guess FIFA is on a new tip since south africa - spreading the sport to new locations, reaching new markets, etc. no point anymore in giving the tournament to england, spain, etc - market is saturated there. no growth potential. they're going to consume the world cup no matter where it happens, so might as well get some new people onboard…
that, and make some bribe money on the side. i hope some scandals come out of these decisions.

Selling the most ads doesn't make it the most successful in the sports tradition. The coverage was pathetic, the commentators fucking idiots and the general public of the host nation no fucking interest whatsoever…not unlike South Africa, Russia in 18 and Qatar in 22. But being American I suppose you do associate $$$$$$ and only $$$$$$$ with success. (no offense intended, just an honest opinion)
Why is the next one in Brasil if they want to penetrate new markets? Talk about a saturated market, that whole fucking continent only plays one sport.

That doesn't change with any World Cup (save for general public interest). The US coverage is still crap and the commentators are still fucking idiots. But that was only the American Coverage - every other nation has their own coverage regardless of where the Cup is held.

BTW - no alcohol for foreigners in Qatar. That'll keep the English out.

They're doing the pod system for Russia to limit travel.
If St. Petersburg draws a quality group or some place down by the Black Sea it will be awesome.
Russia has a few things over Qatar and I'll start with Vagina. Lots of it.

and the Germans
…Belgians
…Dutch
…Irish
…Scottish (won't qualify anyway so no biggie)
…Welsh (see note above)
…Danish
…Swedes
…Yanks (used to pisswater but still under the alcohol umbrella I suppose)
have I forgotten any?
I can almost guarantee a south American country to win in Qatar because the heat will be a factor for the Europeans. Or maybe Italy due to the corruption factor. They could also win in Russia too for the same reason.

Maybe they can hang those who finish bottom of each qualifying group just to make it interesting.

I'll take the combined Iceland/Greenland bid to just nudge out American Somoa/Fiji, which loses because the International Dateline would confuse the hell out of everybody.

The problem facing the Greenland/Iceland bid is Iceland is broke so could not line FIFA's pockets enough to win the bid.
North Korea could be a dark horse though. If there still is a North Korea by then of course…could be just a big ol parking lot soon enough if they don't mind their manners.
