If that many Germans would have stuck their arms in the air before this tournament, we may have avoided two world wars.*

*Both arms required for this to work
even I didn't want to see that for Ronaldo…
i want those two and a half hours back.

Come on now -  the first 20 minutes weren't awful….

I was sitting next to interns from Apple who were wasted, so at least they were entertaining, but yeah, Portugal played for the PK's and France frustratingly took their foot off the throttle.  How on earth Gignac and not Martial replaces Giroud was beyond me….

last four major tournament finals 0-0 after regulation… two went to PKs… need changes in rules but never going to happen…

No, Spain won the 2012 Euro 4-0 over Italy.  But the other 3, yes.

But again no.  The 2014 World Cup was an Extra Time goal, the 2016 Euro was an extra time goal, and the 2010 World Cup was an Extra Time Goal.

I know you don't but I consider the Copa America major.

2014 WC Argentina- Germany  0-0 at end of reg Germany scores miracle goal to break my heart and wins 1-0
2015 Copa America Chile- Argentina 0-0    Chile wins on PK
2016 Copa America Centenario Chile - ARgentina 0-0 Chile wins on PK
2016 Eurocup  Portugal-France 0-0 at end of regulation Portugal wins 1-0

they need to make some rule changes but they won't because its the world's most popular game….
I'm fine if so long as the Copa's are the only ones that consistently end in PKs.

this is the way I feel about too many of these games now…. I'm no longer really in love with the world's beautiful game….  there is a need to adapt the game to changing circumstances…

94 WC Final PKs, 06 WC Final PKs

10 WC 1-0 in overtime, 14 WC 1-0 in overtime

not good

This Eurocup was a worst tournament than the Copa America IMO…

Pretty much all major tournaments are now mediocre…….

I mean look at Portugal.. a very mediocre team…
I know what this is really about….

vs.

There's something missing in the second photo.
some ideas that I at least think should be given some thought.. :

1. the offside rule needs to be improved.. it simply cannot be that legal goals be ruled offside… also allow the striker to be a few feet ahead of the last defender
2. bigger goal
3. consider using 9 or 10 players instead of 11…
4. consider allowing more substitutions
5. cut down on the physical nature of the game.. its killing it…
6. make the penalty area way bigger
7. two refs on the field
8. things like shirt tugging in the box should result in automatic expulsion

the game does not allow the more talented and skilled teams to exploit this skill… opponents simply play physical and take advantage of rules to equalize things and cancel out the skill…
