You missed my experience being escorted to the lobby at YLT story…I also didn’t like how that was handled

Also sorry k8… it's unfortunate when melenials are now the people running businesses, handling customer service, etc… terrible humans!

Thanks, friends. Hutch I’m sorry you had a similar experience. Some people get off on the power trip, I guess. Sad.
Scott McMicken and the Ever Expanding. So, so, so, so so GOOD. That's five so's out if 5. Opener Arc Iris was weird and good.

And Union Stage is the best venue in DC.
Skinny Puppy was easily one the worst shows (& sound) I've ever seen.  TG I only spent $10.
I heard there were space aliens….

Agreed on all accounts

one of them, not sure I'd give it 'the best' rating

The Sound has been decent when I've been there
bar/merch was accessible
beer selection is above average
sight lines are decent
I've never paid for the seats, but I would imagine it would be a good spot as it's just above the crowd and not that far back (and next to the sound board)
Pizza is pretty good (only may be an upstairs thing)

the biggest issue is the lack of quality talent.  they have enough shows to have me wanting to go a few times a year, about as many as FSS

That's some low praise based on your 5 figure show attendance, I would have to imagine you've seen some pretty bad shows over the years
I dunno, I find ad many shows I like at Union Stage as I do Black Cat, 9:30 Club, Dc9, or Anthem. I've never been to FSS.

That Big Star all-star band show last year was one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Flesheaters were great, I've seen Helmet there too and it was fun. There are some decent shows that come through, you just have to keep your eyes open.

For sure, many acts only play Live Nation when booking a US tour
Gotta say M83 was superlative at Anthem on Saturday.
Ahh I was given a free ticket…..I thought the new songs were OK.  When did he get that big?  I was surprised how full it was.

We drove out to the Carrol Arts Center in Westminster to see one of favorite local Power Pop bands Starbelly do a show.  Been following this band for over 20 years and since they rarely play out live anymore, we jumped at the chance to see them live.  Solid set from them featuring songs from their three albums, plus a couple of covers.  Would have a prefect show, expect one of the three main singers had a chest cold and was sounding a bit rough on the songs he sings lead on, but oh when those four part harmony kicked in it was still fantastic  Venue is a nicely converted old Art Deco movie theater in downtown
Don't know if anyone here is a Yes fan…I am.  Saw Jon Anderson Saturday at the Lyric.  I was very surprised, as he sounded great and his band was incredible.  If you are going to see a "fake" Yes band then in my opinion having the original singer is better than seeing the other fake Yes band with Steve Howe and a fake lead singer.  I've seen them both and the Jon Anderson version is better in my opinion.  Highly recommend if you are a Yes fan.
According to my notes, I haven't seen The Roots since either 1999 or 2000… anyway, a lot has changed in 23 years!

I saw them last week and it was…

1. Awesome
2. Free
3. Exceeded all expectations

Their band is tight as all hell (not surprising), super entertaining, and Black Thought is still a top 5 MC in the game. Would see again… would maybe even pay.

Where were they playing for free and how did I miss that?
Nice. I saw the Roots once at 930….pretty good…they had Rahzel then

I think the roots is down to two original members, right?
