Drum Solo!
I’ll give it a B

Both Modern English and Soft Cell gave us respectable sets leading up to their hit(s).  I was surprised to learn that other than the drummer  Modern English consist of the original members of the band, thought it had turned into  a case of lead singer and stand-ins.  And while the crowd came to their feet to sing along and clap for the song it seemed like they were better suited in a club environment.

I had seen less than flattering reviews of recent Marc Almond appearances, but his voice was sounding great and what I thought was a stand-in for Mark Bell was in fact him.  Also, learned that besides "Tainted Love" they were considering another Northern Soul cover at the time which was The Four Seasons "The Night", it was later recorded and they did a fine rendition last night.  Of course top notch backing vocalists enhanced the performance.

more later stupid actually work
Not sure if anyone caught the Dean & Britta show last week at Songbyrd, but I thought it was absolutely fantastic. Wonderful, incredible show…loved the band they put together. They had a guitarist named Skylar playing with them, who could shred. The Galaxie 500 songs sounded spectacular. I'm very, very happy I saw it. Great night.

Grace was just unreal. One of my favorite concert experiences ever. That was bar none one for the ages.

Speaking of Dean and Britta, there might be some exciting Luna news in the next month or so-ish.

Just a great show from Bad Moves tonight, best show from them yet.  All the should have been chart topping hits played start to finish. If you are going to go out, do at the top of your game.

Not sure who it was who posted about them during covid, but thanks for the tipoff it got me out what ever rut I was in a the time.

more banter on the rest lineup for the final much beloved Big Moves show

Lee Bains III who I will lazily refer to as the Billy Bragg from Birmingham, AL did a bunch of blistering rock songs with themes of pro worker and anti company man, along with pointed barbs about various billionaires. While he going the solo with band in a box route, he has a bunch of records out as Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires which could meet the approval of some here.

Adult Mom another artist going the solo route from their regular band. Set was a bit awkward as it done acoustically with a lots of chatter in the audience, but will be checking out more of their records.

Light Beams gave us a tight 30 or so minute of frantic dance rock, featuring an energetic lead singer backed by two singers who added additional percussion, driving melodic bass lines and a drummer propelling the entire band.  10 of 10 Style points given for the entire band wearing much beloved Bad Moves t-shirts.

and of course much beloved Bad Moves.
I saw two bad moves used records at store earlier today…it was hard resisting
