Fun “Greatest Hits”’Bush show. Forgot that Filter was the opener so nice surprise?
First time seeing both bands so check it off and move along.
26 years ago I saw both bands at Q101's Twisted Christmas concert in Chicago. Part of an afternoon/evening concert. Other bands on the bill: Blink 182, Foo Fighters, Oasis, Fiona Apple, Run DMC, and Moby. Bush was the headliner. Kinda wild to think how big they were at that time.

that lineup is/was kinda redonk. that wasn't a concert, that was better than many multi-day festivals…

I think for me the highlights were actually Moby (this is before Play blew up), Oasis, and Foos. Blink 182 did a fine job as well, and the kids loved them. Fiona was late and looked like a deer in the headlights and though I think she's great, it was just a bit of a shambles. Poor Run DMC just didn't have it together…Filter was OK but they took themselves a bit too seriously. Bush's set felt anticlimactic. Oasis only did like 5 songs, but it was the first time I saw them with Andy Bell and Gem Archer, and the first time I saw them do an all-band version of "Wonderwall"…it was sublime. One of my friends had just passed away, and somehow "Wonderwall" felt really poignant and they delivered on that one. One of my favorite moments during Foos was when my sister's boyfriend got into a brawl with 2 drunk guys during "My Hero" and the melee took out like 2 rows of people. Good times.

Oooh, what did I exaggerate? The 2 rows of people that were taken out? That is a FACT. I should clarify that the security guys were partially responsible for that too. The row in front of us went flying forward.

Same. 15 minutes before showtime a reseller dropped their asking price to $55!
First time seeing Amyl and the boyz
Impressive
I feel like she was channeling Lemmy, iggy and dc hardcore
What a fun, loud, fast and out-ta-control show.
She really had the audience eating out of her hand and they were boping and grooving the whole set
The bassist commented something to the effect “if this is what you guys are like on a Monday I can’t imagine how nuts it is in DC on the weekend”
Sold out shows at the Fillmore are brutal
I got in midway in SM set and it was packed to the back wall and was next to impossible to maneuver through the crowd

Capacity for a typical music show is listed as 2000 on various sites…I wonder if that’s right??
I was surprised it sold out at such a high price point. I think it was $60 before fees…
I love their first album so much

Get there earlier. Remember- Be Best.

what are you…my mom
I show up what ever the fuck time I want and wiggle my way in to find a good spot to see the show
this is a punk rock show, not some symphony at the Kennedy center
I got there mid way in the opener and that's early for me
sold out shows at FSS are over capacity IMO, it was packed

Awesome! I expect a full review!!!
it was a total blast. haven't danced like that in a while. karl was kicking just as hard as the last time i saw him, some 17-18 years ago when the boys opened for radiohead. rick was furniture, as expected. crowd started off a little reserved (the seattle stoner thing) but 10-15 minutes in it was a 2,000-person dance party. they ended, predictably, with born slippy which the crowd ate up, but for me the highlight was cowgirl - everyone was jumpin'. i was reminded of how many different styles of electronic music those two have touched through their career - trance, house, jungle/d'n'b, electro, dowbeat… only complaint was that the sound lacked punch. sounded overly even and processed. the sound mix was great, PA was clean and clear - i just would have wanted more dynamics. would see again. and again.
Man so jealous. I haven’t seen them since Beaucoup Fish tour at 930! They come so so rarely to DC area!! I could listen to the stuff when Emerson was in band forever. The Dirty Epic/Cowgirl maxi cd is so good. 😊
Just heard a WUSA reporter covering Metallica call them "the Beyoncé of metal".
