At the National show last night I saw hundreds of new order shirts including a the National New Order shirt.

What is the deal? They sound nothing like new order…..unfortunately

I hope they give the New Order camp some of the merch money.

How does Matt do what he does? He somehow always makes you feel like you can connect to any song of his JUST at that time. Like he is writing the soundtrack of your life as it progresses.
Ah, true! But even worse…they LOOKED British.

Well they were a band much loved by Markie and poorlulu.
Shit… How do I follow up a Space plageziered post show banter post like that?

The Walkmen - 5/24

Hmm… Perfect night at the club, I'm going to go with 66% sold, cool air breezing through (or was I possibly standing underneath a fan?), one $13.12 Stella consumed. I showed up 18 minutes before show time and walked right in.

Now the show… According to my notes, I haven't seen The Walkmen since circa 2011 or was it 2012 opening for The War on Drugs… Were they good? Yes. Would I see them again, no?

For a band that showcases a ton of rockers and so much energy, it was just dead as all hell in that place. I did enjoy Ham's little stories about DC life, etc. I don't know the names of any of their songs, but I lasted for one hour and ten minutes of the show and felt I got my $pace worth based on the ticket price.

The Atlantis looks HEAVILY under construction still… Hopefully the faucets are working come this weekend.
For the record, it was War on Drugs who were opening for the Walkmen.

edit: The Walkmen vs Matt Maeson on May 31st will be the first time both venues are sold out.

Foo Fighters were awesome in Boston and Ohio.  I think I liked the set better in Boston.  You fuckers who got tickets for tonight are in for a treat I bet.  Again got jack shit here  ;D

Boston was one of the best shows I've ever seen them do. Josh is the perfect drummer for them.
Great Los Lobos performance at Wolftrap last night.  https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/los-lobos/2023/filene-center-at-wolf-trap-vienna-va-6bb95286.html

Wish the setlist was longer but I'll glady take what I got.  I was hoping for a Bertha cover but loved the three songs from Wolf including a sweet version of the title track…  Oh and a tasty cumbia for Hutch.

50 years of the band and the vocals are still strong.  I don't think the band members have changed except for the drummer.

North Mississippi All Stars were very good as well.

Taj Mahal was a lttile too MOR for me.  Glad he played last, we got a jump on the traffic.

in case this is helpful to others, 'cause it took me a minute to figure out (maybe): i believe "MOR" stands for "middle of the road."
