No it's not a regular thing….I think Nick Cave fans are more aggressive I guess

I wondered about that, too. This was my first time at DAR - is rushing to the stage like that a regular thing there? I would think it's against fire code to have people in the aisles when the lights go down, but I guess DC is different in that aspect. Definitely didn't seem to matter where your seats where, if you're allowed to do that.

[ Stagger was awesome too as he stretched out and even added a new little call and response as well as an additional verse of Stag putting 4 holes in the Devils m-f'n head.

well apparently not unique, but cool none the less Stagger Lee Perth, Australia, January 18th, 2000
people rushed to the front at the Strathmore and it was clear Cave encouraged it and wanted it.. he didn't want to play to a bunch of people sitting down, etc..

Mental note…next time Cave comes to town…buy the cheap seats and make your way down the isles
now i'm double bummed i didn't go to Queen..from MPP fb:

Went to the Queen show on 7/21. Great show. Terrible venue. 1) The venue sent out a gate crashers invite which I signed up for but they never let us first timers know how or when we could us it. By the time we figured it out, they "reached the limit and blocked us out 10 feet from the gate but still allowed Friends with Benefits member in - are you full or not? 2) People pushed through the line to "ask a question" but was never made to go back and allowed to stand in front of those who had been waiting for hours. 3) The big screens are outdated and provide poor quality viewing. 4) The food was way over priced - talk about gouging - OMG - 32.00 for 2 burgers a fry a coke and a water. Ridiculous. Robbery. 5) Underage drinking 6) Security staff and I use the term loosely were nothing more than what appeared to be 16 yr old slackers with no purpose whatsoever. There was a couple next to us that were drunk and the girl was pole dancing on the guys crotch and doing everything but stripping. She was placing his hands on her breasts as she gyrated and at one time had her hands down his pants. At one point she was attempting to perform oral sex on the guy. The staff member just stood there and watched them and did nothing. when people complained the staff member had to consult with another teenager and they decided that since they weren't physically hurting anyone - it was ok. WHAT ABOUT THE 10 AND 11 YEAR OLD KIDS SITTING RIGHT BEHING AND BESIDE THEM. Plus, I didn't come to the show for soft porn. Come on people. Finally, at the risk of starting a fight, other people said something and the couple left. I have been many places for many concerts for over 40 years –worse place I have ever been.
I find it hard to believe there was a large <21 contingency at Queen + Adam Lambert, but I may be mistaken.
i do that all the time at merriweather . . . whats the big deal?
Yup, but at Strathmore they were not selling very expensive VIP tickets.  It also took a good number of songs for it to happen at Strathmore.  Again, I'm not complaining, it worked for me and I don't believe shows should have seats unless it is jazz/classical.  I was just commenting.

You'd be surprised, thanks to Adam Lambert.

you are dead on correct… and though I did not say it .. I was aware of that different reality..

I think Nick Cave should rethink things a little….its not right to take money for VIP tickets and then have this take place..

anyways I could not be at the show last night… I'm sure it was wonderful..his show at the Strathmore is one of the best I have ever seen..

I cannot help but ad that DAR is a shit-pie venue and should be avoided at all costs unless you like to eat shit-pie sandwiches..
How do you "attempt to give a guy oral sex"?

You either give it to him, or you don't….

you seem to be an expert…tell us more?
yes, please do
My point was it was an odd choice of words. I mean was she performing oral sex or was she not performing oral sex on the guy?

She was placing his hands on her breasts as she gyrated and at one time had her hands down his pants. At one point she was attempting to perform oral sex on the guy

weird thing is you could ask the guy himself on Facebook….if you were on Facebook…which I seem to remember you are not which is fine as I hate the thing as much as I use it.

I think he is just making shit up honestly… even if that really was going on why would you look unless you enjoyed it?

Some people may look because they enjoy free live pron?

Just a guess.

No, I'm not on Facebook. Does anyone who actually uses Facebook enjoy it? I've heard your complaint from others.

You're kidding?

there are a ton of people who love sharing pictures of their baby  on facebook they can't imagine anything better…

i think its been demonstrated in studies that people simply "liking" sommething you post gives you some sort of chemical rush…

I guess my sample size is really only one. My wife tends to have a love/hate relationship with Facebook, I figured maybe others do as well.

Won't get into it any more than that because it's not the right thread and it's kind of a boring topic (imo) anyway.

I couldn't agree more.  I guess I'm glad that those folks are subsidizing my show without much of a loss for me, but I actually felt kind of bad for the VIP folks, and the venue definitely was bothering him.

I also agree with you about DAR… I was hesitant to buy tickets because of the venue.
