You can read a review of that show here:

Doug Wimbish joined Living Colour in 1992, between their second and third album. Muzz Skillings was the original bassist.

Well they threw down tonayt…75 minute solid set…heavyosity
Also we observed a moment of silence for Sinead
I tried the IMPA and it’s like they squeezed a lemon in my cup…too fruity for me

Did anyone go see Beyonce this weekend? It sounds like the concerts were great, but everything outside of the actual shows was a mess.

Can confirm. Went last night. Epic cluster. Beyonce is awesome and her show was fantastic. Venue (and communication, not sure whose fault) was horrific.

I went to Beyoncé on Saturday. It was fine. FedEx is terrible, but we were on the club level, so it was a little nicer. Great show. Wish we had a more fun section. So many people sitting. Not me and my friends!

anyone go to Pink in DC? Don't really care about the show itself, just wondering how bad the weather was or if it cleared by showtime.

I try to ignore American politics lately. It’s toxic.
Will be plenty of time to get immersed in it around elections.
I used to love following US politics but it’s gone completely off the rails.

not really sure this is post show banter…but you are not wrong
I used to love talking about it with Conservatives/GOP types and legitimately wanted to hear their side of the issue
…but now it's like asking for a fist fight and I just avoid the topic like a third rail in person

Queens sounded fantastic last night. Kick ass. Much much better than I remember in 2017. Seemed rejuvenated.

I'm gonna probably have the unpopular opinion here, and I don't want to detract from anyone's enjoyment of the show last night. Much better than 2017? Better yes…but I'm not sure I'd say much. My issue is that I've been seeing Queens for 24 years now. I saw them when they came out with the first LP, and I've seen many variations of the lineup. Invariably, every lineup offers something worthwhile. I enjoy the current lineup very much, though I still favor Joey Castillo's more up-tempo Animal-from-the-Muppets flashes of energy. Jon Theodore is a great drummer though, no question. My main issue is with Josh. He's not a happy person. I don't feel like he's having a good time. I sensed it in 2017, but last night he was fried on mushrooms and what started off as a strong set for me quickly devolved into QOTSA cover band territory. A friend I was with said "it isn't bad…but it isn't good". I actually disagree with him…it was fine. Fair to good, with some moments of drugged-out psychedelic bliss that bled dangerously into schlock. Not a trainwreck. But what was up with the solo during "Make It Wit Chu"? Ouch. On the other hand, that was the tightest version of "Little Sister" I've ever heard. QOTSA used to be one of my very favorite bands to go see in concert, because it always felt like you'd get some fierce brilliance, a few moments of inexplicable and unexpected improvisation, and you'd feel like Josh was either having a blast or ready to blow his pretty ginger noggin. Last night felt like Ginger Elvis entering his Vegas jumpsuit-era. Great band, but a bloated and drugged-out delivery. It was a pale shadow of what a Queens show used to be. After last night, I might be done with seeing them. I love the songs "Make It Wit Chu", "No One Knows", "My God is the Sun", and "A Song for the Dead", but I'm also getting tired of some of the standards. There was no "Regular John", no "In the Fade", no "Hangin' Tree", "no "You Can't Quit Me Baby". The new material is strong, but I felt like I was watching an imitation instead of an authentic actualization of a great band. I agree it was better than last time. But damn, how the mighty have fallen.

I don’t really get the forgery or imitation accusation. We know the band is all different from back in the day. Not really a band even as I bet other than Homme they are all on retainers…
Every time a band gets up there it’s an act…that’s what a performance is…You ever seen AC/DC live? It’s super scripted and still incredible
You were at Pixies at Atlantis. Why is that not an imitation of early pixies with Kim?
Would it have been better if Homme had shot up onstage?
Band sounds tight…Dean Fertita is awesome…sound was crystal clear
Maybe you just don’t enjoy them live anymore but want to blame them? Your review six years ago was sort of similar.
People coming out weren’t exactly complaining dude!

I mean, it’d be a good story for those of us who descended from our California sober, ivory towers to come see the poors sing and dance for our amusement. Let’s try it. Hey, Seth!

Realizing that Dean has essentially become the quintessential side man, I really wish he'd get back to his own songwriting. The Waxwings first record "Low To The Ground" will always be one of my absolute favorites of all time and his hello=fire record is a worthy listen as well.

Hmm, I was wondering why Hutch thought the sound was so good when I read this tidbit in Wikipedia
During the tour with the Raconteurs, Fertita got to know the band's sound man Hutch, who is also the long time sound man of Queens of the Stone Age
