You know this is an interesting observation. Another usher who was behind soundboard told me he felt the sound got mangled badly.
Hutch, are you suggesting the sound quality at an IMP venue was anything less than "so perfect no other venue is worth attending"? I just want to make sure I have my bearings straight.

Well yea… typically the headliner brings more boys to the yard.

I could apprentice thee, but I'd have to levy a fee.

Of course not! How dare to even imply such a thing. :) The fact Clutch sounded insanely good tells you the problem was not the venue. Remember, as I said, I really think Dino does their own sound.
Phew. My world was about to be thrown into a tailspin. Thanks for clearing that up.

So you are talking about the bill?

I don’t know but my understanding is this is a national tour…

I don't get your question… If Clutch was the headliner of the show, they would probably have more fans there than the opener?
I agree with myself
Yay I win!
Kangaroo Court!
Clutch were awesome, more metal than I remembered but really on point.  It was a killer show.  Red Fang also delivered big time.  Dinosaur really and truly were not in the PA for the first 20 minutes which is ridiculous.  Musically I thought they owned the night but no one probably noticed..  I'd say inexcusable but we're talking about a rock concert here!  I made a recording too which I will share gladly if you PM me. Cheers, Toby
Hey Toby

It’s disappointing to read that the sound was fucked for 20 minutes…sounds like a mistake….was it the first 20 minutes of Dino? I heard Just like heaven towards end and it sounded good

Smells like a cover band
It's funny that many bands are combining an Atlantis appearance with their Anthem appearance, whereas Living Colour arr combining there's with their Tally Ho appearance .
Living Colour is doing two sold out shows at Atlantis. Not too shabby….

Serious talent in this band…just read up on Doug Wimbish

They are playing the Tally Ho in Leesburg on Friday as well, but you would have to sacrifice the Outlaw fest, the Drums, Portugal. The Man or Culture Club all on the same night.
As an old man, I really appreciate both DC9 shows this week being a) early and b) short.  I think I got back from the beach about 20 minutes before I had to leave for the show on Sunday.

Remember Sports was super fun. I don't like the most recent album as much as the others, but they were

Lifeguard was incredible.  I hadn't really listened to that album much ahead of the show, but those kids killed it.  Noisy & chaotic…been a long time since I saw an opener wow me like that.

Horsegirl rules.  I missed their last show at DC9, but they sounded really great.  Played a bunch of new songs too, which were all really good IMO. EDIT: I should mention the crowd was a lot of OLD dudes…I've gotten used to being the oldest guy in the room, but I was surprised how aged the crowd was.  At first I assumed it was maybe the band's parents (both bands are young), but based on how many, I think it was just guys being pervy. Not me tho, don't say I was there to be a creep.

I've never been good with understanding how "popular" a band is, but i was surprised this was still at some place so small.  I dunno…i guess i assumed they were a lot bigger than they are?

I once saw Living Colour n a small club (capacity was 200) in Albany, NY…right as they were hitting it big.

The opening act was Soundgarden.
I think they played an outdoor concert on the UMD campus in the late 80s…vague recollection of attending this
