I ain’t crazy
I mean, those numbers are bizarro in a lot of ways. Hillary even being listed is wacky.

I’m just saying I would be stunned if it’s Duckworth or Rice (less so). I HAVE been stunned before.
Understood

Umm, not sure what happened with the 5 remaining rulings?

Lawrence Hurley@lawrencehurley
No Supreme Court rulings expected today. Awaiting word on when the next ruling day will be. Five cases left

Dude, they are really gonna make us wait another day…

SCOTUSblog@SCOTUSblog
No more opinions today. The court just announced that tomorrow will be the last day of opinions for this term. That means we will have an answer on Trump financial records tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.

Today's pair of decisions on religious employers will have broad consequences for workers. According to some estimates, the ruling in Our Lady of Guadalupe means that hundreds of thousands of employees of religious institutions will lose employment-discrimination protections.  And the ruling in Little Sisters of the Poor could mean that between 70,000 and 126,000 women will lose access to free coverage of contraceptives in their employee health plans. That's the government's own estimate of how many people are affected by the expanded exemptions. The decisions are a big win for businesses with conscientious objections to the ACA contraceptive mandate like Little Sisters & "many other religious objectors who have participated in the litigation" whose employees still have the ability to get coverage from alternative sources
I just can’t see them ruling in a way that  is against the president….would love to be wrong

So can anyone tell me why Biden isn't just jumping in feet first with Pot

The Marijuana Superweapon Biden Refuses to Use: Legalizing marijuana is extremely popular. So why won’t Joe Biden embrace the idea?
Democratic political consultants dream of issues like marijuana legalization. Democrats are overwhelmingly in favor of it, polls show. So are independents. A majority of Republicans favor it now too. It motivates progressives, young people, and Black Americans to vote. Put it on the ballot, and it’s proved a sure way to boost turnout for supportive politicians. It’s popular in key presidential-election states, including Michigan, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Florida, Arizona, and Virginia. There’s no clear political downside—although marijuana legalization motivates its supporters, it doesn’t motivate its opponents

At a minimum, I hope they do this Biden would move marijuana off as a Schedule 1 narcotic
Maybe he is a bit out of touch…people have changed

Well, I would think cause it’s not that popular with the voters he needs?

I mean he needs disgruntled Trump supporters, people in the middle…

But do we really think supporting pot is going to get people to the polls?

I litterly just said this

Those seem like the people he wants to get to the polls

another tidbit from that article
In 2018, top Democrats credited a legalization ballot initiative in Michigan with boosting turnout and producing the biggest blue wave in the country—winning races for governor, Senate, attorney general, and secretary of state, along with flipping two congressional seats and multiple state-legislature seats

So yeah, seems to get everyone to the polls
seems like a no-brainer to me…but I'm obviously biased
Yeah I changed my post

Maybe he is out of touch

On the other hand they have to be micro targeting a small segment of the population and maybe they don’t think it plays well there? I mean think about the voters you need to ensure a victory…I assume that’s what they are thinking about….

1% of voters in

PA
WI
MI
NV

2-3%
FL
AZ

4-5%
OH
NC

Something like that…they are not using the turn out your base strategy as much as the turn Trump voters, maybe?

So it’s more like how does an issue play with that small sliver than how does it poll with everyone

Or they are out of touch

Manhattan DA gets Trump tax returns. 7-2 ruling.

Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh today rule against Trump on Manhattan DA subpoena.
although…someone said
this means the NY grand jury won't get docs until after the election.
Loss for Trump on the face, but win for him in terms of allowing more delay.
In Trump v. Mazars, Trump wins this stage of dispute over congressional subpoenas to lenders and accountant for president’s financial records as #SCOTUS, 7-2, sends case back to lower courts to take account of separation of powers concerns
Perhaps more interesting in the long run is McGirt coming down 5-4 for the Native American tribe. They tried to cabin this a bit about major crimes but Gorsuch left it a little open still.
