The 2020 thread....

So how does it go if Joe for some reason isn't able to accept the Dem nom in Aug? (either dementia as yada claims or Corona?)
Do the delegates just move to other candidates
Right on cue, Stein pops up
Geez what a negative bunch

I never said he was demented, I think hutch brought it up. But it's a valid concern.
Well you did say he was not functioning!

He’s fine…just old…news flash BTW old people vote young people stay home

I will talk to you when you are 80…you will still be posting here , right?
I saw Biden on Chris Cuomo's show last night and he was actually very good.
If Biden can carry Macomb Country in Michigan home of those Ragean Democrats and Pennsyltucky it will help immensely.

The chances of me making it to 80 are pretty, pretty slim.

I didn't see him there, but I've been thinking that with everything he's been through with his family, he might be the kind of guy who can offer emotional hope to a heartbroken country.

Then after a year or two his female VP can take the reigns.

I don't know, man. They always say God protects children and fools and with your dreadful taste in music, you're definitely the latter.

Oh, Medicare for All is on the ballot? What office is this non-sentient construct running for?

Biden can’t be that badly off to have wiped the floor with the competition!

I wouldn't say Biden wiped the floor with the competition. He won a single primary (of a State the Dems will never carry in November) before they all gave way. I think it is accurate to say the competition was scared Bernie would win with a plurality and so they stepped aside for Biden.

Whether he is really the strongest candidate we will never know.  He had the most party history and ties and that's what won him the contest.  Obviously, if that is going to be an important criteria we will continue to get old candidates.

incorrect.  biden crushed on super tuesday, in multiple states, before the competition started throwing in the towel.

Really? I thought only Bernie, Biden, and Warren (not counting Tulsi) were left once Super Tuesday rolled around.
yeah, i think you're right… i'm getting my dates scrambled.

Buttigieg and Klobuchar were definitely both out before Super Tuesday.
I also love how this is a point the Bernie  voters harp on. The adults in the party formed a coalition of likeminded voters and accomplished their goal. Meanwhile, the infant-wing of the party posted Snake emojis at Warren supporters and then wondered why she didn’t work with them.
Even after Warren dropped out Sanders could barely crack 30%

It’s hard to make an argument that a Sanders would have made a better candidate based on his performance in IA, NH and NV all very atypical states… one can criticize SC but at least it has a lot of black people

What do the caucuses in IA or NV prove? Or a win in his neighboring NH, a state whose primary hasn’t picked the eventual nominee since 2004?
