The 2020 thread....

Politics is the art of the possible

Pete and Amy are far better off politically for having dropped out….it’s politics

Pete saves his prospects for the future

Amy is in line for a major cabinet position….I do not think she would be considered for VP but you never know

It’s politics not the evil DNC…it’s not being told to drop out it’s knowing when it’s best to drop out….Why would Klobuchar have continued? To get 5% in most states and lose her home state to Sanders and probably come in third? And if Sanders became president don’t you think she might have been challenged by a Sanders supporter and maybe lost her senate seat?
well we haven't seen the last of Jeff Sessions, but thankfully we've seen the last of Roy Moore
I want to say I want Sessions to lose but the alternative might be worse

Still, I want Sessions to lose
Tommy Tuberville. Lol
I am sorry but I have come around to idea that if say Biden were to win in November it will be despite Sanders and his supporters

A lot of them will sit it out or Sanders may even run third party…his support for Biden would be tepid..he will wreak chaos at convention

The Democratic Party will have to turn some Republicans and maximize turnout among certain groups

I see what many Sanders supporters say on social media…these people will not vote Biden…just like they saw Hillary and Trump as the same thing they will see Biden and Trump as the same so you have to minimize the losses and win despite a sizable number of them

Democratic turnout Virginia has nearly doubled from 2016.

I mean let’s face it…let’s face the facts

Bernie wants a revolution

Biden is just not going to be a revolution

But Bernie knows this is his last shot and his weak attempt to play nice in 2016 is just not going to happen this time around…he will prefer to burn it down

He was the football coach at Auburn for a decade.
Topic for discussion: what if Biden throws conventional wisdom out the window and does a unity ticket with Bernie?
CA called for Bernie on Politico

A VP has one job:  to be ready to be President

78 year old heart attack survivors can’t

If only Bernie had a young lieutenant….he just doesn’t have many friends…AOC is too young
Margin in TX down to 2%!
Biden is going to win Texas

I cannot see Bernie getting nominated barring something crazy

He will lose the biggest states remaining: FL, NY, PA, IL. OH and MI

He has zero chance in GA or MO

He will win WA and OR

WI could be tight

Tuberville takes down Sessions…good riddance

Nope…there is a runoff

This CA exit poll tells you what we are up against with Bernie supporters

https://www.cnn.com/election/2020/entrance-and-exit-polls/california/democratic

It looks like Sanders won both genders, every race except black, all age groups below 45, all education levels, a majority of those who identify as Democrats, a majority of those who identify as Independents, a majority of those who identify as GLBT, and a majority of those who identify as straight.

So which of those categories are you not a part of? Or are you just saying you're a non-Californian?
The point is many Bernie supporters aren’t going to vote for anyone other than Bernie in November…it’s there in the numbers

We are going to have to beat Trump without even more of them than when Hillary lost

There isn’t anything to be done…it’s not as if Bernie has a young lieutenant we can make VP
Boy did Biden have an amazing night or what?

I did not see that coming…

These primaries are over

You've probably analyzed this more than me, but what's the evidence for your first point?

Four years ago Trump was a tv personality and political novice. Today, he's one of the most reviled creatures on Earth, by anyone left of the Middle and my even some on the Right. You don't think that's enough to inspire Bernie voters to hold their noses and vote for Biden?
My evidence is the exit poll I am pointing you to (third try here) and what I see around me….
