Welp
The 2020 thread....
Tulsi suspends campaign. Endorses Biden
Three pillars of Trump’s case for reelection are collapsing all at once
KEY POINTS:
- President Trump’s reelection campaign was designed under the premise that the economy would be strong through November, but that’s not true anymore.
- Trump also planned to make socialism a central focus of his attacks. But without Bernie Sanders to run against, this argument becomes a lot less potent.
- Trump campaigned on “draining the swamp” of big government. Now he wants Americans to trust in big government to fight coronavirus and save the economy.
i disagree with the last point, it's a bit disingenuous. "draining the swamp" isn't quite the same thing as reigning in big government. but otherwise, interesting points.

Mike Bloomberg spent nearly a BILLION DOLLARS – $936,225,041.67, to be precise – on his presidential bid, according to an FEC filing.
The $18M he transferred to the DNC today is less than 2% of that total.
was like, you can keep all the change you find in the couch

it is interesting how many press briefings Trump has had since last Thursday (daily?)
He has been able to talk his way out of every obstacle in his life but seems he's met his match
My advice would be the same as before: just shut it, let the pros speak

superb comment.
Reached out to my local VA Senator (Adam P. Ebbin…I don't remember voting for him?) for an update on getting Vote by Mail done for VA and thought I'd share
Thank you for your email in regard to vote by mail options for upcoming elections. According to the Virginia Department of Elections, all Virginians are eligible to vote by mail for upcoming elections in May by marking reason "2A My disability or illness" for Absentee voting in the May 2020 elections due to COVID-19.
With the passage of HB1 during this year's legislative session, all Virginians are eligible to vote "no-excuse absentee" in this Fall's election. Senator Ebbin will continue to advocate for expanded ability for voting and ensure the safety of all residents during these trying times.
I still think they should push to get it like Washington state, but at least "no-excuse absentee" is now available.
(technically Northam needs to sign, but zero likelyhood he won't)

little early and little too optimistic…but wouldn't it be great if graham got sent packing in 2020

they keep saying the quiet things out loud
The Washington Post @washingtonpost
Analysis: Trump just comes out and says it: The GOP is hurt when it’s easier to vote
I just don't get how GOP/Republicans can talk about Fair this and Fair that…it is such bullshit
We need to get vote by mail NOW
If the Dems take it all in Nov, they better make things like this a priority and not be nice like Obama was when he had the chance
Electoral reform is urgent
I remember Smax posted something from the economist in 2017 (was that when I graduated High School…seems like forever ago)
something like Dems need to get 54% of the vote to win…
After that…DC and Pureto Rico Statehood.

Al Gore, who has been mostly out of the public eye for quite some time, is 72 today - still younger than Trump/Biden

Yes….Nancy gets it!
Speaker Pelosi: "We're going to MOVE to vote by mail..The integrity of our election system is central to our Democracy..I don't know how anyone could oppose our enabling our states to have vote by mail..Public opinion will weigh in on that!"
