The 2020 thread....

the news caster just said they were 'downwardly correcting' the vote
Yikes!
I hear we flipped VA House
Both houses solidly blue. Blue Tsunami rolling thru? Left to see. But definitely taking both houses unless every call is incorrect.

Great time to live in VA!

Governor, lieutenant gov, attorney general, both US Senators - dem.

Both state houses - dem.

7 of 11 US House members - dem.

Time to get caught up on things the wild majority of our citizens care about: redraw the maps that has made this take this long, be the 38th state to ratify the ERA, minimum wage increase, recreational weed, LGBTIQ+ rights, Medicaid expansion.

Great, just great.
Sweet!  Proud VA Dem
going to drive my old school VA in-laws absolutely insane
Kentucky is really too close for comfort but got to think it has gone blue

Hot take:

You all realize that KY and VA Democrats are essentially moderate Republicans, right?

My eyebrows are singed off just from reading that scorching hot take.

I was tempted to give Az a hard time about that
I'm from VA and about as blue as they come and was insulted (while there is some truth to it)….but alas, there is some amendment that protects that

If he shaves his mustache and you put him in a tan suit, he might look a little like Obama.
I feel like these guys are too late….it’s November 8

I get why Bloomberg sees an opening though….Biden looks washed up

And I don’t see Pete , sanders or Warren being able to beat Trump

Kamala might have been able to beat Trump but I don’t know what happened to her

Turnout was outstanding for an Off year election
Nearly 40% of voters statewide cast ballots in this year's General Assembly elections, up from 29% from 2015.

I love hearing that kind of stuff
I have to credit the Dem's with motivating their base to get out the vote on this one
You mean you want to credit Trump

What did the democrats do to motivate me to vote? Send me flyers?
finally people are dropping out…but seems like just as many are jumping in

Blankenship launches third party presidential bid

this guy is a total loser, couldn't win in WVA, not sure why he thinks he'll do well on a national level
Blankenship previously spent a year in federal prison

I do like more from the right, who are critical of Trump (all these spinless elected R's are insufferable) …split the conservative vote by a few points in a few states and it's curtains for Trump
I know…watch the hubris
Nice campaign AD for Elaine Luria of VA

We need more of this
interesting stat:
When President Trump took office in January 2017, there were 241 Republicans in the House.
Since then, 101 have either been defeated/retired/otherwise left office or are retiring in 2020.
