The 2020 thread....

Team trump win/loss in the courts for Election 2020:
2 - Wins (one of them I think gave them 9~ votes in PA?)
34 - Losses

I want to use a sports analogy, but the closest thing is "The Washing Generals have a better record that Trump's legal team"

make that 1-35
BREAKING: Pennsylvania Supreme Court AFFIRMS our 5 victories in Philadelphia and REVERSES our one loss in Allegheny County.
Trump and his allies are now 1-35 in post-election litigation.
This shit misses the point

The point of the litigation is not to overturn results

They know that isn’t going to happen

Everyone knows that isn’t going to happen

It’s to continue to dispute the election..to not concede..to fight.. to maintain the appearance that election is in dispute and to potentially give Trump an out to never concede or allow transfer…”Hey election is still unresolved”

But if it makes liberals happy to trot out these stats like at a baseball game

Looking forward to the clips from this
@GSAEmily Murphy will appear before Congress today to answer questions about her decision to withhold approval for the transition.
And who will be among those questioning her?
@RepKatiePorter

and apparently, she chickened out

Ted Lieu@tedlieu
Why did @GSAEmily ignore the Democratic request for a briefing today?
BECAUSE CONGRESSIONAL SUBPOENAS ARE MEANINGLESS.
It takes **years** to litigate a subpoena.
We can fix this by changing the House Rules to allow Inherent Contempt power to fine witnesses who ignore Congress.

I think there are 70 million trump voters and a rightwing media industry that doesn't agree with you

So on one hand, I agree.  But to be able to show how baseless and time-wasting all this stuff is, it is good (IMO) to be able to show what happened with 'all those cases that were taken up in the states'
sucks it wasn't a shut out, but still they have zero legs to stand on when reviewing what has happened with these attempts
Whatever floats your leaky boat
Of course we have been there since the Monday after networks/media called it for Biden so two weeks ago

I give them that Sunday cause it was the weekend
The state of Michigan just certified President-elect Biden’s win

I shall be released!
The vote was 3 to 1, the one citing significant problems abstained… and the other will be chided mercilessly by his own party.

Has the Kraken been released yet? Or do we have yet another Conservative grift in motion
I saw over the weekend that the republican that was running to replace Cummings and lost by 40 points, was blaming Hogan for their lost…

I guess the concern of the consequences of lying under oath made her revisit her position
I made my decisions completely independently.
I think she was afraid of katie

But this seems like a 'tipping point' kinda moment
Yes it seems together with Michigan to be a tipping point

It’s been hard to stay cool

I kind of follow Biden’s lead

When he tells me to freak I will do so otherwise ignoring noise

maybe that's the catchphrase we didn't know we needed…

Independently. Just happened to take place mere minutes after Donald Trump tweeted I should go ahead and do it, but independently.
fascinating factoid from CNN:

"(Trump) has sent 322 fund-raising emails since Election night - an average of 16 emails a day.  This is in large part about creating an empire where Donald Trump remains a dominant force in Republican politics, even after leaving the Oval Office in January."

the new "leadership PAC" that was spun up just recently is going to be his slush fund that enables him to continue being a playah (without having to spend his own money), and he'll be able to dole out cash to ensure that other GOP'ers will kiss the ring.  could also fund a 2024 run, should he make one.

edit: related link.
Trump is a kingmaker in the GOP…the base is not following the GOP, they are leaving fox for fuck's sake
It is Team Trump for the future (hopefully he only lives 10 more years).  No one has the power over the base that he does
It is no longer about Policy, all personality…
He got 10 million new voters out in 2020

The question that remains is, will Mitch and the rest of the GOP kowtow to Trumps will when the only power he has left is the Tweet?
I think so as the base will take direct orders from Trump

I was thinking that his loss in 2016 was going to fracture the GOP in to two separate factions…but that didn't happen because he won
I'm thinking that he will start his own network and the MAGA party and the spineless GOP leadership will likely just follow him
but it will split that vote …I know my skills at political prognostication are legendary (in my mind)

I'm still a little worried the Dems are going to fracture in to two parties too…
Pennsylvania has been certified

Governor Tom Wolf@GovernorTomWolf
@PAStateDept  certified the results of the November 3 election in Pennsylvania for president and vice president of the United States.
As required by federal law, I’ve signed the Certificate of Ascertainment for the slate of electors for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Is it me or does it seem like there has been a lot of winning…
also, I have it on good authority that Randy Quaid is now Trumps political and spiritual advisor

oh this too
Biden/Harris just surpassed 80 million votes…

and
Nevada Supreme Court certifies Joe Biden's win
