F'n Awesome…so going to this show

Yes yes yes! Obsessed with this dude. Totally there.

FYI…I didn't realize that the presale went onsale yesterday… it's already sold out for DC (no other cites seemed to sell out the presale? …well SF did)
http://kingkrule.co.uk/dates/

So tickets go onsale at 10am 9/27
Appears to be a lot of local interest in the show

I get RNR dropped the ball because since I saw this posted on here tickets have been on sale through their site. I haven't nabbed any tickets yet, waiting til I get paid. Hopefully it doesn't sell out :\
kosmo . . . my cat gif, was cute, no?
Ok being overly grumpy today..
here kosmo . . . this should help

RE: Rock the Bells ticket prices

They were not over $100 per day.  I believe (i was planning to go at one point and looked up ticket prices) that they were as follows:
1 day ticket - $86
2 day ticket - $125

So if you were to do both days, it was around $60 per day.  Which to me is an ok deal considering how many artists were playing.

I genuinely do not understand how you don't like Savages.  They are awesome.  Their music is strong, kick ass, and the lyrics are wonderful.  Plus, their drummer is insane!
I do not understand because usually we seem to have similar tastes…

They sound exactly like Siouxsie and the Banshees.
I do agree that we have similar taste…

I don't know what it is about them though.  I haven't heard their whole album yet, but the two songs I heard on SiriusXM didn't do it for me.

Have you heard Pleasure Leftists?  They sound a bit like Savages (mainly in the vocals) but I really like them.

The singer for PL also has a minimal electronic project with similar vocals called Kiernan Paradise.

Maybe I will give Savages another chance.  When I mentioned them for King Krule, I wasnt trying to diss either (though I have dissed Savages in the past, I admit) just saying that they both have a similar buzz.  And sometimes this buzz turns me off of an artist before I give them a chance.
I've never heard any Savages. King Krule is amazing though. I eagerly anticipated his EP from earlier this year. I found his Soundcloud page and couldn't stop listening. Unique kid, great music quality. Wonder how his live show will be.
this should make kosmo smile, mister grumpy grump

…I meant the presale was sold out…not general onsale.
I got mine this morning no problem…although I'm annoyed by the additional $12.75 fee for $15 tickets.  I would have gone to the box office, but was worried it would sell out.

Give the whole album another chance.  I've found that sometimes the things I like the most are things I really disliked at first…sometimes.
I will check out PL.  I think I've heard them, but I'm not sure!
I believe they have a new one in the works… Definitely worth a listen!

Tricky @ U Street Music Hall was delayed and is now canceled.

Tricky will have to cancel some of the dates on his US tour due to further visa problems.

The tour will now start in San Francisco at the Treasure Island Festival and conclude with a re-arranged date in New York on October 26.

Tricky has some juvenile offences for joyriding and forgery of the crown and the US authorities require full disclosure before granting any visas. The new hold-up has been in getting this information from the UK police authorities.

I guess he is promising to come to the US again in 2014 but if ticket sales for DC were soft, and I'm guessing they were if he couldn't even sell out U Street Hall after being on sale for like six months, he may not visit DC  again.

All of which is a real shame as his new album is superlative.

Its very amusing to me how much people fawn over Maxinquaye…yes, its good.. but there is so much Tricky that is good.. and so much that is better than Maxinquaye….but you can't argue with them critics..they tell you what to like and the sheeple follow and then abandon as told to…. its funny because in the rest of the world if an artist is succesful people stick with them..but in the US there is a very short cycle and then you're "old"…
I wonder if many people had tickets to see him, Example, and How to Dress Well–all scheduled to play U Street this fall, all canceled now.  I imagine there is a healthy level of overlap between their respective fan bases, at least with Example and Tricky certainly.
Tricky has a horrible reputation for being shitty live and his albums since Maxinquaye have been extremely inconsistent. He treats his audience and fans like crap and this is what happens when the quality of your music falls. Besides, Max got all that attention because it was seen as groundbreaking at the time.

And hutch, you're an out-of-touch doofus if you really think people still follow rock critics. Name one current critic who has any kind of platform. (And speaking of "sheeple" how about you stop using a dumb meme word that simply illustrates you following the pack of dipshits).

Michael Azerrad. Chuck Klosterman. Alex Ross. Stephen Hyden.
LOL
Apart from Ross, those are some very lazy, simplistic choices Julian. The main gig for half of them is writing for a Sports site.
But I guess if you're influenced by Chuck Klosterman, then that's your choice.
Chuck Klosterman.
