Just Announced Commentary - 2011 Edition

Damon Albarn and Noel Gallagher on the Making of Gorillaz?s ?We Got the Power?

I thought it might be cute, the idea of us singing about the power to love each other. Of course, no one?s asked Liam what he thinks about the song yet. No doubt he?d have a fantastic one-liner about what a bunch of fucking knobheads we are.
That was a great article. I especially loved this line from Noel:

Damon wondered what Liam would think about you two singing about loving each other.

Listen, nobody gives a fuck what Liam thinks about anything.
Goddamn Liam is so damn funny. His twitter has a series of terrible photos of Noel with "POTATO" written underneath them.

If I had to hang out again with Liam or Noel, I'm team Noel all the way. He's fucking funny, he's pretty nice, and he just seems more like a regular guy. Liam is impenetrable and you cannot decipher a single thing he says. That being said, I do love his Tweets.
I don't care if this whole Liam/Noel thing is a lie/ruse/publicity stunt because I am so damn entertained by it.

I'm a firm believer the entire thing is a years long ruse so when they reunite Europe will go ape.

so Gorillaz.. what is it like? I mean how do they perform live with a bunch of cartoons and without all the guests on the albums?

There are a ton of people on stage and a ton of visuals, not all of which are cartoons.  They won't have all the guests from the album, but there is usually a special guest or two.  It's a fun show and I recommend going.

I saw them at the club in 2002, and they played the entire show behind a screen. This review is pretty accurate: http://georgetownvoice.com/2002/02/28/gorillaz-rock-out-behind-screen/

DOS  = Dicked Over by Service fees

edit…guess that's Day Of Show :)
no one will go to the Richmond show if it's $33

we went there for PJ Harvey at the National….deserted town, on a Saturday!

Really? Show sold out like 3 months ahead of time. That's surprising.

I went to the PJ Harvey show and while it wasn't uncomfortable, it definitely felt full where I was.  I will admit that when I thought about bailing so I could stay longer at the science march there was NO resale value on stubhub.
I'm talking about the general area near The National…

Oh, yeah, there's nothing to do within several blocks of there on the weekend aside from a few restaurants and the Symphony hall.

Didn't see an email from Ramshead announcing this!  ???
In October, Spiritualized will be in America for the Desert Daze festival in Joshua Tree, CA (the other top-line acts are Courtney Barnett, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and Hope Sandoval).  I hope this ends up being part of a larger tour.

+1

I'm guessing Spiritualized is about due for another album.
Kasabian skipped D.C. this tour.  They will be in Philly on 9/15.
Anyone get QOTSA tickets? I never got an email. I got a text saying I was going to get an email but nothing… I don't see the show up on Ticketmaster either.

EDIT: Crap the text says valid the 27th. I must have misread all the stuff last week. Smh.
