Hmm, they ask for a code :/
Just Announced Commentary - 2011 Edition
QOTSA has all the elements of a band I should love and yet I don't really care for them, it's kind of odd. I did see the 9:30 show a decade ago with Grohl on drums and it was fine but have never been moved to see them again.

Nah, I'm just not a 20 year old, double digit IQ, high testosterone male, so heavy/hard rock doesn't appeal to me.

come on..cut the stereotype bullshit (as immediately above) and get real

I love going there. It was designed to be an acoustically perfect outdoor venue and was one of Frank Gehry's first designs.

Yeah that is why I don't go to shows in DC during the week anymore.

No…but that's what all general admission pit shows are like, I hope you enjoy the cool July breeze packed in like sardines hutch.

I drive to DC all the time for shows, all the time in traffic. There are just a few shows here a year that are really great and isn't it worth a little drive? Such a pretty venue.
But, it is easier for me since I can walk to it. The only good thing about living in the burbs. I run over to Merriweather and back every am!
Hutch, I sent you secret directions…in case you ever need them.

Well, except for early shows, I have not found traffic to be significant, although parking is of course a bit of an hassle. I just go to DC from the north, though, I have never circled around it. Sometimes the worst part is to get out of Baltimore.
VA people have Wolf Trap, MD people have Merriweather.

Anyone coming from DC to Merriweather, let me know if you want me to send you the super secret back way directions :)
175? I never have issues with traffic taking that to MPP.

Yeah MPP seems pretty mcuh traffic free unless it is the Free Fest. Getting From DC to Columbia can be pretty awful. When I worked in DC I lived in Columbia. Horrible commute.

I'm old. I want a seat. Especially since the douchebag attendance for this show could be high.
I got 2 floor tickets. The show in Richmond the crowd was fine. Although we got there really late and my sister is super short so we went up to the balcony. Everyone seemed fine. I think I've seen douchier/snootier crowds honestly. The NIN show was way fucking worse than any QOTSA show I've ever been to.
Either way, I'm stoked. How many people are going to this?

I'm guessing a lot & most will be in the pit, much like New Order last summer
Woo! I think I've only ever met Julian and Miss Pretentious? Maybe? It was forever ago.
