Just Announced Commentary - 2011 Edition

Hey a thread we can talk about our Neutral Milk Hotel tickets!

I have one for 2640.  I was also able to grab two for DAR.  Nothing too fancy, but decent.

well.. .I didn't mean Hagar sucks.. I meant its a booking that is not very appreciated…I would love to see Sammy… anybody that has the party attitude is fine with me and Hagar has written and sung plenty of great stuff…  I just think his stock is kind of low..  of course what is funny is that say what you will but Hagar is one of the guys rocking cause he loves it… he does not need the money..he sold that Tequila or whatever company for like a billion dollars and is loaded…(although I'm sure investors probably got a big chunk of that change)

I did dislike Van Hagar a lot though..

Blues Traveler may be one of my least favorite bands of all time.. if i hear runaround or the hook one more time (i think runaround was a BT song) i will blow my head off..

I was sorry to miss the Wallflowers at the Black Cat ….but again, its a band whose stock has really sunk…

That Blues Traveler guy is right wing nut job which would probably make you hate them even more.

10/10 Baltimore venue TBA

awesome! Thank goodness, I was bummed I missed that last show!
She actually responded to my complaining on Twitter about her skipping DC!
Nice… Let me know if you want a ride to the show.
Yeah I definitely do. Guess we will have this and NMH in Baltimore on back to back nights.

No worries, it will be fun!

This sounds dreadful.

Saw Brian do Pet Sounds at Warner some years back…it was fantastic.  I think Al was there?  Maybe we are talking about the same show?

Brian WIlson can't even sing anymore.  And I hate Jeff Beck.  I saw outtakes of the Pet Sounds tour and Wilson looked like he didn't even know where he was.
I have a question regarding the second Fiona Apple show at the Lincoln Theatre:  I wonder if it will go on sale instantly when the first night sells out, or will it have a set on-sale time, another Friends with Benefits advance sale, etc.?  I didn't pay attention to how the Neko Case second-show sale played out.
from what I remember, the 2nd Neko Case was added the next week without a formal announcement other than Facebook and/or twitter.

I'm sorry but hate Jeff Beck? how is that possible?
my theory on Brian Wilson, and its not mine alone, is that he really doesn't know what he's doing and is being trotted out there on permanent tour by people benefitting from his work…. on some of the Beach Boys shows he looked like he wasn't there… on some shows he looks frightened… I don't think he ever recovered from the late 60s/early 70s…

Why wouldnt that be possible?  Im going to guess if i posted a list of the artists i dislike, I would get similar responses… Not everyone likes the same music.

dislike ok.. hate .. not so much..

because its like saying "I hate genius"

how can you hate such an amazing guitarist?

I mean I don't like all genius but I recognize it and give props to it.. i don't say "I fuckin' hate you , you genius guitar player"

Jeff Beck is seriously seriously good… moreover, as a person, he's been quite principled… no sell out in that guy…

I think he is schizophrenic and on heavy  medication.

I don't like Jeff Beck's music.  If he is so great of a guitarist why is all his music so boring.  Being able to play a ton of notes really quickly doesn't make you a good guitarist.  I feel he is overrated because he used to be in the Yardbirds and Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton were in the Yardbirds so it makes a better story if all three are great.  The edge might not be able to play everything Jeff Beck can but to me is a hundred times better at playing the guitar as he makes good music.

When I say I hate Jeff Beck I mean Jeff Beck's music. I don't have anything against him as a person.
