Just Announced Commentary - 2011 Edition

I had 2 decent cheapies in my cart, but passed on them.  Logistically tough on Mother's Day.  Plus I've been blowing a bunch of cash on Caps tix lately.  I'll probably regret this.  Saw Prince at Cap Centre many years ago.

BTW…these RIDE tickets are not at all a problem to come by.

I don't think the promotion on this was very good and unless you had them as a friend on facebook, you wouldn't have known about the 930 show (or been on this board  ;D )

It seems like this was a secret presale?

I bet the 930 and ticketfly will publicly list this and then it will sell out

never understand that, so basically the club agrees to not announce or publish it on ticketfly, but the band gets a link they can post/share?

pretty much, yeah.  not just on ticketfly, but anywhere… the club promises to remain silent about it, and only the artist gets to promote the link to the tickets.

I guess there is no easy way to get on the 'artist presale mailing list'

Some of the most recent times I've seen them have been some of my favorites. They still sound great. DJ Bonebrake still has the power, Exene and John still harmonize in that really unconventional way. There's a live LP that came out a while ago that isn't very good…my experiences seeing them live have been way, way better.

For the record, "Under the Big Black Sun" is my favorite LP of theirs, and they always play lots of stuff from it.
