Just Announced Commentary - 2011 Edition

If you could set it up with Mr Cruise, I would be happy to be his escort.  I would love to chat with him about UFO Cults (I am a fan of the topic and even named my current band after one) and whatever else he would like to talk about.

This is always a fun event …family friendly
lots of cool special releases too (although that line is always a headache…pays to get there early)
even more awesome that LAI is playing!

by special releases you mean beer one has to stand in line for and pay?

Los Amigos Invisibles no longer has DJ Afro in it.. kind of hard to get my arms around that….

yep

BWT…don't see any reason why you couldn't smuggle your own  beer in (to avoid lines and paying)
certainly frowned upon, but they don't check bags

although this is not a legally binding statement

no DJ Afro in it..

while that is a bummer, I think the will still be fun

Well.. i get where you're coming from but Los Amigos Invisibles were one of my favorite bands..I checked them out a lot… and it really was DJ Afro's band in many ways.. he wrote most of the songs.. he provided the flash, the fun, the image (along with the singer who looks disconcertingly like this Venezuelan bartender, and Catire the bassist)….and when DJ Afro left.. man its a brutal blow for Losamigosinvisiblesheads… maybe I'll go for the parking lot scene and wear my Alpine Valley 2007 run t-shirt…..but I don't know.. I've kind of moved on

Did you log in with your space account?

I could definitely see Space bringing some 32oz Ocelot $5 fills to a beer festival.

While I endorse smuggling in your own beer to events where no alcohol is served, I'm not ready to endorse smuggling in beer to events where craft beer is available. Especially at an event sponsored by a craft brewery.

Says the guy who lives in a 400 square foot tarpaper shack.

;)
side of burnt toast.  now, that's a good one.

edit . . . oops.
I hope Britta plays a local show that is not opening for Luna.

I really enjoyed her album, but do not like Luna and will not go to that show to see only her.
As to Birchmere/Luna.

Luna is really boring.

And

A lot of people prefer (and only go to) seated shows due to shortness and/or back issues.

:)

there will not be a local Britta only show.. you can take that to the bank.

another person who really supports artists he likes…. I mean shit if you really like her album go for the opening set and leave.. have some class..but its nothing to me.

I can definitely see how Luna is not for everyone…..

I hate seated shows.. cannot stand them… I'm sure I'll find a spot by a wall or in the back to stand…I wish they were having it in the bandstand.. they should use the bandstand more.
Oh get off your high horse.  I support plenty of artists.

well you don't support Britta.. that is clear… I am betting everything I own that you have not even bought her album.. basically you enjoy her music for free and wish her good luck in making a living.. nice.
Have some class?  What crazy world do you live on?  I liked her album.  So?  That does not mean I will pay $40 to go see her for half an hour.  Not going to do it.  Why do you care?  Supporting artists that I like?  I spend tons of money supporting artists.
