Not really… I mean, I like Phish and Ween, but do I want to camp in the middle of the summer with a bunch of wookies? Maybe 15 years ago?

Edit: I've seen both of these bands too many times to count and wouldn't want to deal with any of the logistics around that event. If there were day passes and Ween/Phish were playing on the same day, I'd consider that.
interesting…

Phish will play Friday/Sunday…

So… Ween headlines Thursday and MMJ Saturday?

I take it back… pondering renting a cabin and taking a shuttle to and fro.

Will report back.  ;D

and thank goodness WSP isn't playing there.

Lucy Dacus

Been meaning to post about Lucy Dacus (Richmond native)
Opener for the julien baker show at Dc9

Has her debut coming out in two weeks
only a few songs available on the internet currently
but expect big things

I thought she and her band were great, real treat to see
Highly recommended

She's playing a few times in Richmond at The Broadberry 2/19 and 3/4

Assuming when the album drops we'll get a DC date
Hey, good catch. I've seen Lucy a few times and she is definitely the next Black Girls/Matthew E White/Natalie Prass outta RVA. If you like Waxahatchee, you will like her. Hyped for the LP release.

Tony Visconti & Woody Woodmansey's HOLY HOLY - Celebrating David Bowie
@ Baltimore Soundstage

man in NY they are doing
Wed Mar 30 New York NY Carnegie Hall
Fri Apr 1 New York NY Radio City Music Hall

sound stage is only 1000 capacity
what a dump after playing RCM and Carnegie hall

IMO it's a great show and worth seeing
The Heaven 17 guy did an amazing job on the vocals
I just hope Tony's daughter isn't still the opening act

Wonder what they mean by 'celebrating david bowie' on this tour
as the last tour was 'the man who sold the world' plus all songs that Woody was on (70-73)
is this going to do a more complete retrospective??
You guys are still exited about seeing a David Bowie cover band?

Come on, that shit had its 15 minutes. Time to move on.

well, can't say I'm excited and don't plan on going
it really was a top notch performance and they are a little bit more than a cover band
not much, but 2 spiders from mars says something…but no Ronson or Bowie…they were the meat of the organization

I was more commenting that they are playing giant venues in NYC and SS in bal
SoundStage has a capacity of 1,000.  I would not call that, "huge".

I will never move on from my love for David Bowie's music.

Holy Holy was great… I'd definitely see them again..
what is it with people not understanding sidehatch..does he not express himself correctly or what?

he meant Sound Stage is a lot smaller than the venues they are playing in other places./. like the frickin' Tower Theatre in Philly etc.
Edit

I did not see the "what a dump" post.  I must have missed that post.
thanks hutch…apparently Goggle has yet to develop a 'sidehatch translation app'

Hutch is Han and I'm chewie apparently

The Snails, Wing Dam (last area show before they relocate to San Diego…), Amanda Schmidt, and Frogman (Ed Schrader and Kevin Sherry)
@ the Ottobar

This one is going to be both awesome, and sad.  I consider all three members of Wing Dam my friends, and was saddened when I found out they are leaving Baltimore for a sunnier location (and mainly so the drummer can be with his girlfriend and the band can stay together).  Thankfully I was able to see them around ten times, and was able to sit in on part of their second album's recording session…

Didn't know a drummer could have such an influence on a band.

Apparently, it's the drummer's girlfriend with all the power.
I do not find a band wanting to stay together as strange.  Maybe I should have kept my comments about their upcoming show to myself.
