15,000 (I believe)

I thought it was 18,000.
wikipedia says 19,319. That would require a total lawn sellout, in theory, which rarely occurs.

Florence and the Machine was pretty packed.  Sweetlife sold-out.

Has any music from this new band been released?
The last album of covers of some obscure artist didn't really do it for me

its coming out soon…. i think there was one song released….jack black was actually a part of the rollout of the song and was hyping it..

So this Charles St parking lot that Wye Oak is playing in July…..is this the lot next to the dry cleaners or whatever is adjacent to Metro Gallery?
yes, next to dry cleaner
the only downside is that there is 0 shade.  but i guess this is later in the evening so it won't be too bad

I was thinking what a special place to have the concert because that parking lot was the first place my wife and I kissed.  Then I realized I made out with other girls in that parking lot so not as special after all.

Remember Jam on Penn?

I remember something called Live on Penn. It was a free concert series like every Saturday right? Am I thinking of the same thing? I remember Violent Femmes and Cracker were going to play one but it got cancelled.

i saw blues traveler there! early 2000s, i guess?  it was a shitshow.
I was supposed to go to the Femmes/Cracker show.  Was looking forward to it!
I saw a great show there…it was Guided By Voices and the Violent Femmes..

what a great bill…..what a blast…

I also think Government Mule played once but they were horrible..warren haynes is the worst singer ever next to the dude from panic.
Oh hey, it took me a tenth of a second to change over to the Commentary thread to discuss shows.

Some people are just lazy.

Actually it took you significantly longer.

Defending inefficient and idiotic things with calling people who point out its inefficient and idiotic "lazy" is a total eye-roll.
You said people who cant wade through the BS throughout the JA thread were lazy.

Thanks Kate! I do not understand why some people want to go on and on and on about what they like and dislike, in this thread.
I don't understand why it bothers anyone. I takes like a tenth of a second to process "show listing" or "discussion of a show listing." It's Orwellian to have another thread to discuss the content of this thread.
I am going to assume that you meant lazy with your "tenth of a second to process" comment.
But community, right?  Isn't that your buzzword?
How about we all start triple and quadruple posting in threads?
I personally think commentary should go in the commentary thread
just announced should just be shows….if you want to put a comment while you actually post a show…that's ok….but three pages of back and forth are kind of annoying if you want to see just announced…it really is the most viewed thread…and not because of the commentary
so think of all the nameless voyers who come to this board to find out if what new bands are coming to town

In what other thread do we NOT DISCUSS THE VERY TOPIC OF THE THREAD? That's what some people advocating. It's like something out of an Orwell novel. It requires more effort, and kneecaps conversations, so the very very busy people who are able to post multiple times in an hour defending this policy can save a few milliseconds in their review of what shows are Just Announced.
