big nono in any world, whether real or in the entertainment zone, the gay guy should never bash the guy who could kick your ass.  but anderson is indeed . . . the "grey fox."  still, at his age?  wow.

I just hope the DC crowd is not as painfully lame and small as the most recent DC Jesus Lizard crowd.

scratch acid vs JL: lower name recognition, put out fewer albums, and are a more distant memory… you tell me how big the crowd is going to be  :-\
Yeah, you're most likely right.

11/4 is a Friday though so that's something? Maybe?

Yeah I know I am reaching.

I think the stereotype is exaggerated 99% of the time but that night might have  been the worst crowd I experienced in all my show going years at the club.

theories that come to mind:

a) for those of us who go to too many shows, the lame ones stick out disproportionately.  we have this expectation that every single show is supposed to be amazing.

b) DC is a smaller market than, say, NYC, with whom we insist on comparing ourselves with.  when a band play a 1,200-person venue in NYC there will be a higher proportion of "hardcore fans".

c) joe.
A) The show itself was great. The band was tight as ever and Yow was at his Yowest. Even he was obviously annoyed at the sparse and inactive crowd.
B) Good point although from all accounts, Baltimore which is a significantly smaller market was a more raucous affair.
C) Yep, Joe.
oh please I bet one can find people in other cities complaining about others not dancing or getting into show…  have you seen this clip from blow-up?  not much has changed in 40 years

Yeah, more often than not, the criticism is stupid and unfounded but for this show in particular, the crowd was an embarrassment.

DC crowds couldn't touch Detroit on its biggest crack hangover day.

guesses on how much prime orchestra seats will go for?  i say top price is $250 (ticket only, excludes any potential VIP packages/"fantasy ticket" bundles/etc).
I'd guess closer to $500. I don't know why, but I just totally have a feeling it'll be something absurd.
$141 for "regular prime" orchestra seats. Not sure about the VIP yet.

That's only because he'll only be playing music from this:

on his lute.

But if Jennifer Connely and David Bowie show up, that's a wash, right?

Brian
Only $20 for Little Dragon the same night.

Who would pay seven times as much for a Sting show?

because he likes sting, and doesn't care about little dragon?

you could also listen to the drunk dude with an untuned guitar on the street corner for less than a dollar.  why pay 20 times more for little dragon?  :P
Hmmmm…$275 for VIP package. Yeah, I'd say if the economy were better he'd be going for much more.
The DC area economy is actually doing really well.. and thats the market that matters..

I think she's hot.  I'd pay for that with some lace-ups and discipline.

Brian
you know it.  i give up the gay for a minute of that.
