Just Announced Commentary - 2011 Edition

Franz Ferdinand
Music Center at Strathmore
10/17

YAY!
Yep
sucks that they added Justin Jones to the Dwight Yoakam show. How about "An Evening With"? Dwight looks to be doing 35 songs or so, that seems like a long enough night out.
not often you hear someone asking for less entertainment for their money.
I guess this is Just Announced…the latest MPP blast - wish they had listed Laura Burhenn's name as a part of Postal Service as she's been performing at all of the tour dates as well with Jenny and the core band. Especially too, she spent time in DC as a musician and with her record label. Represent, yo. Plus, she has a solid fan base in and outside of DC.

Take a nap beforehand and leave home later if you don't want to see the opener?
Franz Ferdinand tickets are apparently $58.50 (before fees I think)..

I'm going but wow.
Excellent advice, thanks.

And hope that it's not a crowded show, leaving me stuck in the very back due to my late arrival. Because I refuse to be the douchebag who when the headliner comes on pushes his way past the people who have been holding their spot closer to the front for hours.

Well, that will happen with a late arrival to a popular / sold out show.

I don't get the complaint.  Weren't Nick Cave and Morrissey tickets twice as much?
Nick Cave and Morrissey were both 75/ticket.

Still a lot more and Hutch went to both of those shows, I believe.

I think I get it.  Tower Theater in PA pricing for Franz.
US $30.00
US $30.00 Ticket + US $12.00 Fees =
US $42.00
3116 vs. 1976

Wasn't a complaint….

you guys need to get a life.

As far as Morrissey I did not buy a ticket to a show that was canceled anyways. Nick Cave I got a free ticket.

Anymore questions/stupid comments?
I would have paid 150 for that Nick Cave show.
And I think ticket prices are getting out of hand in general.  But, that just makes me a more picky concert goer.

That price seems about right for Franz Ferdinand at the Strathmore.  I think it's okay if tickets are a little more there.

I miss the olden days of 30 dollar fancy concert tickets!  But I know it's just because I'm old now.
The shows I attend average $10 (some as low as $5, some as high as $15).
