these band names . . . killing me.
The one that gets me damn near everytime is Jawbreaker Reunion.
I really hope adding "reunion" to an old bands name doesn't become a thing, it's going to lead to way too many false feelings of joy.
A member of Jawbreaker played a show with Jawbreaker Reunion not too long ago. Or maybe it's yet to happen I'm not sure. Either way, they have at least one member's blessing.

Hutch: DAR does blow.. but I think ultimately your priorities have changed and you are not as interested in live performances….you're more selective… it has to be at the venue you want, for the price you want, and a lot of other factors have to come into line…. this is not the way it was when you were a single young stallion back in the glory days of Space Cowboy concertgoing…
I hope I am not projecting…. Wink
You are right that I am more selective, and I think that's likely the case for most of us as we age.
In my case, I've never been someone who went to tons of shows at any point anyway. (lack of money while in my 20's, living in smaller concert markets, variety of other interests, etc)
But enough of me. These threads are the most boring when they become the most personal, imo.

I'd go see that. I never heard of the Happy Goat Band but enjoy all the other ones listed haha.
I am so grossed out by Wayne Coyne these days I'm having a tough time listening to the Flaming Lips stuff I actually like.
Grossed out? Did I miss something?

Seriously… however, have they put anything out since Yoshimi (which at this point I can't stand either) worth listening to?

yeah, you are almost right. the first set of albums up until soft bulletin really defined them as one of the greatest alternate bands ever, up there with talking heads and velvet underground, and the monkees. I remember worshipping them like some bizarre cult for the longest time. I have this box of flaming lips stuff I bought off ebay with old live Oklahoma shows on cassette and promotional items from soft b and the mars movie thing. I think I own every flaming lips tshirt ever made. yoshimi is where it lost the glamor and old school sound. I do like the essence of what the albums such as ego tripping / at war with the mystics / embryonic are, and theres some good songs that seem to emulate that long ago era into a upgraded oddity. but here lately, seeing how wayne and miley became a thing, and the performance with yoko on letterman . . . I do question the direction the band is attempting to take.
somewhere in that, yada, was supposed to be wrong about something, but I lost track of where.
and is it my belief that people don't listen to thievery corp as much as they used to. I really do hate that myself, for I do it all the time. I listened to them all the time, now never, and mars volta, too, and moe. oh I used to love, moe.

moe..one of the worst shows I have ever seen.. what a horrible band.
some of those jam bands you really do need to take heavy drugs to tolerate them…
