I'm fine with standing!  And good to know about past shows!

I agree… my seat is more the "space" issue have I can claim vs. actually sitting down.
Seems like this is the most popular show of the year among boardies. What are you calling your boardmates?

I'm old.  I want a seat.  Especially since the douchebag attendance for this show could be high.
If i had a great time in the pit for frickin' IRON MAIDEN i don't expect any issues for QOTSA

I like to be able to move…i would feel way more constricted in a seat than in the pit but to each their own..

and never be too sure with DC crowds that people won't sit for large portions of shows no matter who is performing..
The pit at Merriweather can be insufferably crowded if its sold out. They oversell it worse than the club.

I don't care about them. For some reason, I always considered them some kind of mainstream band like Foo Fighters, Weezer, or Pearl Jam (in their respective genre), but maybe I am wrong.

Admittedly, I'm not a die hard fan like the rest of this board and have actually only listened to the new record a couple of times, but I'm due for a good rock show, a good friend is a die hard fan,  and I ♥ St. Vincent… so i'm going to go.
Hate them. Music for blockheads.

they are one of those bands that are ok on album . . . fucking kill, live.  like phish. or cher.
I love "R"…thats when I got into them..but not all the stuff has been of that high a quality..

but they will bring the rock…of that there is no doubt.

but yeah i see walkie beat me to it..its about kick ass live heay hard rock…

personally not a huge fan, but they are an act I can imagine puts on a great live show.
I just don't like big venues like MPP and unless it's a band that I have to see…I avoid most shows there
When they play Song For The Dead, get ready to get slammed and stepped on in the pit.  Good shit.
;D
that sounds like reason enough to NOT go.

yeah i'm the same… i saw two shows last year at MPP (New Order and the Bob Dylan/band that used to be Wilco fest)

before that i think i'd gone a few years without going there

I'd like to see Willie Nelson also at MPP this year but only crap seats available .. i think i was practically nearly dead when tickets went on sale or something…otherwise i can't imagine having passed that onsale up.

why ? because they have a few albums that swamp the rest in quality?

all bands have peaks.. look in the Old 97s/Rhett Miller mirror Jackie.

back in the 1970s Hutch saw the Who from ten rows away in the pit….. Yada was up in the seats sipping his tea; he was always an old soul, even when he was a young one
